Jimbo Fisher's reluctance to name a starting QB should be concerning to Aggies fans. At some point, the eventual winner needs to receive unquestioned first-team snaps. That is especially true for a team like Texas A&M that puts a ton of responsibility on the QB's shoulders.

That being said Klatt is just an Aggie hating troll. Always has been. It seems personal for him. Maybe something happened when he was Colorado QB that led to the obsessive need to trash us at every opportunity.

As much I don't agree with what they say at times, I do agree that it's bizarre that Jimbo hasn't named a QB1 yet unless if he's somehow keeping it under wraps , which is unlikely.
I thought Jimbo more or less said he had decided but wasn't going to announce it. As for Klatt, I suspect he hates that A&M left the Big12 for the SEC. Of course CU left as well but that's blown up in their face.
If they knew how to be a successful head coach, they would be head coaches instead of talking heads

Why do media people feel like they need to know who the starting QB is? I hope Fisher never announces the QB and it drives these people crazy. I'm sure word will leak out once Sam Houston prep starts but Fisher doesn't owe the media anything.

Fisher ALWAYS does this. It's not bizarre at all.
He's right. I think it's worth noting we stepped into the toughest division on cfb 10 years ago now. I can almost promise we'd have AT LEAST one Big 12 title had we stayed due to that conference falling off hard. He's right to be skeptical of Jimbo. If we don't get the playoffs at least once in the next 3 years Jimbo is a bust. Period

I personally think we're going to have another disappointing year as I have a hunch we've struck out on qb again. Plus, Jimbo's offense appears to be fairly complex which isn't helping things.
As for naming the starter, didn't we not find out about Johnny starting until right before kickoff?

He fails to mention, as most do, that we lost our QB1 in week 2 and had to endure a very overwhelmed, underperforming back up, who found lightening in a bottle in one game against Alabama.

How about if you think we're not overrated, you list the reasons why? I don't really see a justification for being pre-season top 10 myself. I think it's fairly easy to say we're ranked too high.

I remember there being at least two teams that set (at the time) single-game passing records when they played us. Just an awful time to be an Aggie Football fan.

Exactly. If we didn't have a hard schedule, nobody did. Some records weren't as good as they should have been because they, too, we're playing an all-SEC schedule.
Joel Klatt was an above average college QB on a hood Colorado team who went I drafted and was released by two teams in the first year only to turn out to be a below average college football analyst. Why people listen to him I have no idea.
