My takeaway... it's easy to win a Natty with a mediocre QB if you're surrounded by NFL-caliber talent in every other position.

My takeaway is that they currently have three starting QB's in the NFL. That seems like a big number. And they have the returning Heisman trophy winner and sure fire first rounder. Man when wil they ever develop a QB over in Alabama?

I would say Mac had a successful rookie season. Jury is still out on Tua. Hurts is what he is, but they liked him enough to stick with him this year.

I don't think anyone thought McElroy or McCarron would ever be anything more than a holder of clipboards.

Hurts was a weird pick at the NFL level given that he never was a prolific passer even against college defenses,

Tua and Mac look like they'll be at least on NFL rosters for a bit, even if they aren't taking teams to playoff runs. However the Dolphins have added some weapons and I won't be shocked if they make some moves in an open AFC east.

Ultimately Saban has done enough in his system to get guys drafted in the early rounds, any coach would be able to brag about that. It's really effing hard to win an NFL playoff game.

Going back to 2000, I think there's only four or five QBs with a national championship that have had even a modicum of success in the NFL. Cam Newton, Jameis Winston, Deshaun Watson, Joe Burrow and maybe Trevor Lawrence. Others have won games but never really panned out. Tim Tebow won a playoff game.
