I keep a running update on A&M's recruiting commits and others of interest that I post intermittently. With the recent start of Fall Camp, and with the TexAgs staff noting that there will probably be minimal if any more movement on the A&M recruiting front in August, I thought it a good time to recap the 2023 recruiting info.

While I must admit that I am dismayed at the progress for the 2023 Class thus far, as are many Aggies and Aggie fans, I do have confidence in Coach Fisher and this staff. Confident enough that I have projected a Top 4-6 Class. (BOOKMARKED!) And I believe that the next big event, for both this season's Texas A&M football team as well as recruiting, will be the evening of September 17th when Miami comes to town. Along with many highly ranked recruits.

As all of us are, I am looking forward to the end of Camp and the start of the season. Great results on the field should have a positive impact on the evolution of this upcoming class.

I don't think there should be full on panic as we have seen Fisher do well in closing out a recruiting class. But I do think being cautiously worrisome is warranted. The recruiting calendar has shifted with the early signing day and NIL. All of which is causing more kids to commit before the start of their senior year. I do think Fisher is being more selective and has the capability of flipping a few kids. With our resources, we should be able to flip almost anyone in the country we like. I'm thinking Fisher wants to evaluate some kids further into their senior before pulling some triggers. I just hope he doesn't wait too long and kids decide to stick with their initial commitment.

I don't think we can make up enough ground to land a top 5 class, but I do expect a class ranked somewhere in the 6-12 range. That should be enough to continue the steady stream of elite talent making their way to College Station.

I also think Fisher has one eye on the transfer portal (something we were not too active in this past cycle. And why would we be when we signed the best incoming freshmen class of all time). I wonder who he is potentially saving a spot or two for.

Based upon what I've read, the pool party laid a nice foundation for the fall, but we need to win the big games at home: Miami in September; Florida and LSU in November.

We should be good then. Unless things change significantly, LSU and Florida sucked last year and Miami wasn't all that good. How we beat Alabama and lost to LSU last year is puzzling.

Outside of the home games, I think it is important to not be blown out by Alabama.

The t.u. Class will fall apart. As for Us just be patient.
