I did a little math, and if you were to use his average speed over a 40-yard distance, it would be 4.10 seconds. The winning speed translated to a 40 yard distance was a hair under 4.05 seconds.

This is the kid that beat Achane. He must be damned fast.

Uh...you do realize that the part of the race that takes longer is the start accelerating from 0 up to speed.

You are better off just using the replay and noting the time when he passes 40 yards.

Then they come into view - and they have the angle - and your watching like -

That's right. And his older brother is extremely intelligent also, but does not have the athletic genes.

When Devon Achane runs, he doesn't propel himself over the land. The Earth spins backwards beneath him.

I realize it's not accurate 40 yd dash time. If you read my post, I explained it was an average speed over 40 yards. I understand the first 40 is slower.

In fairness, I'd like him to run 100 yards every time.

Devon's best time of 6.64 in the semi's was nearly a half second slower than Curtis Dickey's best of 6.15.

A great track athlete. I wish we had him at Aggieland.

The last leg of that 4X400 was ridiculous.

I was there when Boling walked down Desoto in the 4x400. One of the most surreal sports moments I've ever personally witnessed.

I saw Carl Lewis set a world record in the indoor 60 yards at 6.02. 225 lb. Herschel Walker came in 3rd in about 6.15. Amazing.

You have a limited number of dollars to spread around. It's just like baseball. Sometimes you miss out on a stud pitcher because they get more money somewhere else.

Plus, the kid is from a good family and went to an expensive school. Why does he need a bunch of scholly money?
