" That had nothing to do with this class, this was hard work by our staff ... it's insulting that to the kids that come here that you insinuate that."

Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher GOES OFF on NIL rumors about the Aggies"

Jimbo just said how insulting it is to insinuate that. I agree we've seen what Jimbo has been building and all saw this coming. It wasn't about the money!! It was about the hard work

Jimbo's definitely put in the work, we have facilities, fan support and everything else that goes into building a good program. But to pretend that NIL has nothing to do with it in the current college football landscape is just being willfully blind. NIL is now part of the equation of building a good program, even if it's not the biggest part.

Jimbo has ALWAYS been an excellent recruiter and an elite closer. He has already had classes ranked 4 and 6 at A&M. The difference between 1 and 4 is just one or two 5* or signing an extra 4* or 5* based on # of commits. We didn't hear anything when we had a #4 class, only now.

Those hacks and whiners are just going to have to get used to it as Jimbo will likely always sign a Top 5 class at A&M.

He didnt say it had nothing to do with it - he is explaining that the NIL was not the main reason - obviously they will get NIL money from someone but to say we got #1 based on NIL is what he is saying is completely wrong.

The fact is that none of us know how much NIL did or didn't have to do with our recruiting class. Unless recruits start talking about it.

I think the fact that Saban has started *****ing about it means that he knows somebody is doing it better than him.

Isn't one of the few rules for NIL is you cannot use it to sign with a particular school?

He literally said "it had nothing to do with this class."

Jimbo is GOING OFF on the naysayers, Nick Saban, Lane Kiffin, Brobible, media etc. right now in the press conference.

"We not going anywhere. You got a problem with it, come see me."

That's our coach!!

The fact is, I do not care. Recruits should be silent, just like the vast majority have always been.

Why is everyone so hung up on this? Thousands of students get full ride academic scholarships at A&M. Many get more than their actual expenses. Why aren't you all fixated on that?
You may not be a moron, but some people think you are.

Jimbo is just continuing what he did last off season... he is picking a fight.

We also were fortunate this year to host like every stud in America for the Alabama game and that turned out absolutely perfect for us. Electric fans and stadium, exciting night game, just so much energy. And then seeing and hearing you could be the piece that takes us over the top.

Schools have always leveraged financial resources to gain an advantage. Sometimes that was above board, sometimes not. ND used their resources and appeal to gain a national TV contract before anyone else had one. Schools like tu, tOSU, USC, et. al. who had the financial resources to do so used to stockpile players in the pre-scholarship limit days. People are just upset now because there is a new player in town with enough resources to compete with anyone and offset some advantages other schools have enjoyed for decades.

Both Walter Nolen and Shemar Stewart have gone on record saying if NIL money was their only criteria, neither of them would have signed with A&M.

Walter said Tennessee offered more and Shemar said Miami offered more.

Its all just a negative recruiting pitch. Start rumors that A&M is paying every body, then the kids who aren't getting paid will start to waver. Which makes the whole idea of tu admitting they pay their QB 4 mil just mind-bottling.

I 100% believe that NIL money is not the sole deciding factor, but to think it hasn't tipped the scales back in our direction a little bit is laughable (even if Jimbo can't admit that for obvious reasons).

How many times in the past 10 years has A&M finished #2, or been the announcement hat-fake grab before the recruit goes somewhere else? Having the money out in the open means we're competing on a much more level playing field, and like many other things in recruiting we seem better organized than everybody else too.

Just like when I'm evaluating job offers, I may not take the highest offer on the table if I think another place offers a better environment, better career advancement, etc., but my kids still gotta eat so culture isn't the only thing. These recruits see things the same way. We have great facilities, an excellent staff, program trajectory going in the right direction, history of kids getting drafted... and they're gonna get enough money to have a good time in college too. Maybe Miami is offering 10k/yr more (or whatever), but where's a kid gonna have a better chance at being drafted first round? I think we all know the answer... and so do they.

And I don't care either. It's legal. I'm just responding to people who don't seem to think that NIL has anything to do with how good of a recruiting class we or anybody else gets. It does, but I can't tell you if it's a big part of a recruit's decision. Probably matters more to some than others.

NIL did not tip the scale to the Aggies.

It leveled the playing field so that the last 7 years of investment in coaching and facilities in addition to the alumni support and the atmosphere finally tipped the scale in favor of the Aggies

We have to compete by recruiting. Jimbo has applied all tools including NIL. I hope the AD gets coaches in place in the other sports who know how to compete properly. Not just show up.

The bottom line…we can do what they do but they CAN'T do what we do:

1) if you want to be developed to be a first round pick(where the REAL money is) some can do that but so can we
2) if you want to be part of one of the best atmospheres in college football, some can do that but so can we
3) if you want to play in BIG time games with massive audiences/ratings, some can do that but so can we
4) if it comes to MONEY, they can't do what we can do. We will win any money battle we want to win. It's as simple as that.

If you are a recruit who wants ALL four of the above, there is only one place to go. Elite Five stars all across the country know exactly where that place is.
