True - I am proud that we are on the board with a championship in football as well as many others in other sports like track and field, women's basketball, equestrian and I am probably forgetting a couple.

Edit 2: individually speaking Texas a&m has a bunch of olympians and players that have furthered their career to the next level in their history in all kinds of sports.

Not only did I play intramural football, I worked at Cow Hop. They floated me their check.

I was at that Georgia game in 1980. What a difference 40 years make. I was the young guy, just 10 years out of school the Old Ags from the 40's and 50's brought along to tend bar. Of the twelve on the plane trip there's only two of us left.

And we played Penn State the week after.

During the late '70s and early '80s I had a subscription to SI. When I got this issue, the college football preview for 1980,



I wrote SI a letter, which they didn't publish, predicting UGa would win the NC in 1980.

There's a story on that 1980 game, which I've posted before, but here it is again. We get get there and it's hotter than Hades. Here comes this dude in a wool suit along with two women, who we later found out were his wife and sister. He's drinking Chevis scotch out of a half-gallon bottle, yelling GO DAWGS. Halfway through the first quarter, he wets his pants and passes out and the women just leave. What happens next you ask? All the Aggies are yelling at me. Jim Jim get the bottle. Which I did.

After the game, the Georgia fans told us he did the same thing every game.

I loved the football mums! They need to make a comeback. I'm going to wear one next game in Kyle.
