Let's say I'm the dude I always created myself as in NCAA 14. Stats off the charts, and I go to A&M next season. How am I offered an NIL deal? What do I actually do for the deal? Is some kind of product or promo or merch necessarily created? I honestly don't get how this works.

A person or company says "I want to pay you this much money for X amount of your time in a commercial or interviews or whatever"

It's that simple.

Thing is, the school itself can not be involved at all in the NIL deal. It all must come entirely from the private sector.

Not entirely true. School can facilitate deals for students in terms on putting them in touch with businesses

A&M has registry where business can interact with students to work on potential deals.

If you want to get all the inside info about NIL and see how it works from the inside, Go to the top of your browser and click "Stacked". Then click "Subscribe", then "See all subscription options". Then click the Basic TexAgs subscription with a Stacked option. Simple as that. You'll have access to some really good one-on-one interviews with our Aggie student athletes that you can't see anywhere else, and they can get compensated for providing your entertainment. At least 75% of the proceeds go into the pockets of athletes - mostly football, but other athletes who participate as well. Should be much more than 75%, but that's the floor.

"Student" athletes……

Can a university make side deals? Side deals like "Hey Nike! We'll give you a little 'premium' on our uniform purchase this year if you'll kick in a little somethin' somethin to help us get Studly McFlash the 5* running back from Bum**** Egypt"?
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

All those deals are not made by the university. Deals are made by their marketing agents who basically are doing the same things as they do for their truly professional athletes.

The theory of kids making a few extra hundred to be in ncaa video games, or the funds schools have set up to pay guys that will become a **** show for the ones who don't live up to their ranking and collect their $$$?

If it's strictly for NIL. In other words, the contract can't extend to dealing with professional teams

One of the things Michigan... errr... one of the NIL "opportunities" Michigan players have seen... and others are doing...

They create an NFT with a players image. Almost like a Sports Card. Then, they sell those NFTs to fans, friends, companies.

It is a complicated process, but it is a way scale income.

Say, you have 100 NFTs of your likeness and you sell them for $100 each. Boom. $10K.
Say, you have 1,000 NFTs of your likeness and you sell them for $100 each. Boom. $100K.

Do you think A&M players with an NFT likeness, could find 1,000 fans to pony up $100 for an "exclusive football card?!"

If you thought a player was Heisman caliber... would fans pay $1,000 on the chance the player wins the Heisman and the NFT is now worth $10K?!

If you don't know what an NFT is... look it up.

"Scam product used as an exchange mechanic for people who really just want to pay money to players" is certainly one of the better ideas for a use of NFTs that I have heard.

Think of all the underhanded things you thought went on in the prior system. it's pretty much like that except now they don't have to worry about leaving a trail.

NIL incorporates a series of magnets to induce a quantum flux of non linear energy fields.

These fields generate NIL.

"Dunne has as her biggest sponsors Vuori Clothing, American Eagle, Plant Fuel (a plant-based supplement) and Bartleby (a study helper) ... the new policy has meant endorsement money of more than $1 million just this past year."

I'm pretty sure there is an Aggie female athlete that is leading in Aggie NIL money, somewhere around 2 million. There was a story posted earlier but I can't seem to find it.

I'm waiting for the first Jim Wright-esque "book deal". He was the Speaker of the US House from Fort Worth that wrote a book that was bought almost exclusively and en masse by lobbyists.

Thanks for all the feedback. As for Stacked - what if I want my $ to go to a specific program? Or is it just like our government where you give money and they spend it on something that you might or might not care about?

Also, how is this all organized? Seems like it could be a huge cluster F if not routed, but it isn't really supposed to be routed by those who would know best (AD, Jimbo, etc). If I own Laynes and I want to offer a deal to Nigel K. Layne (WR) can I just initiate that myself? Or do I go throug some program where I might be outbid by another donor or company? I still don't get it.
