Like really it's like the NBA vs the G-League in a championship game.

Solid point. Let's bulk up to 32 teams and call it a day.

After OU and tu joins, throw in Clemson, Florida State, and maybe Georgia Tech for a little filler and call it a day.

Boom 90% of the talent in America with only southern teams. We can call it the Southeastern Conference.

Shouldn't this thread title read: "Why do we even follow teams outside of the SECCG?

Cuz the rest of the SEC is 1-5.

Opt outs obviously

Ohio St could have given Georgia a game. They have the WR's to be a problem. That was the only other team with enough firepower to threaten Bama or GA in a CFB game.

I honestly believe the SEC will try something like this in the next ten years. Poach Clemson and one other dynasty team and then try to convince Ohio State and Michigan that everything non-SEC is dead. At that point, it can ditch this playoff, create some internal sec tournament, and start crowning the winner the national champion.

Clanga may want to start beating TTech then. Opt outs or not.

Michigan dominated Oh St up front. Oh St would have gotten obliterated just like Cincy and Michigan.

That's a big factor. How sad is it that Carolina is the only win outside of the playoffs.

It's uncommon there are 3 teams, let alone 4 teams, worthy of playing for a natty. How often are these semifinal games blowouts? It's fun to make fun of the B1G or PAC for being weak but it really has more to do with the top team or two simply being way better than anyone else in any give year. We will get a 2014 Ohio St every once in awhile but it's the exception, not the rule. It will only get worse if they expand.

In the era of opt outs I don't think you can put much stock in bowl records anymore unfortunately

Except they lost to the team that Georgia smoked last night.

And? It is hard to beat a team 10+ years straight. Michigan was due and the stars aligned that day. As recent years and recruiting classes have shown Obio St beats Michigan 8-9 times out of 10. Bama's best WR had to transfer from Ohio St to get snaps. I am mot saying Ohio St would have won, but they have the firepower on offense to put points on Georgia and subsequently pressure on Georgia's mediocre QB.

And btw, I think Utah beats the Buckeyes today. Just more motivated, but it doesn't change the fact that on paper Ohio St is the 3rd most talented team in the country and is a threat to Bama/Georgia on any given day.

Fair take. No doubt the Buckeyes are more talented.

Former Smithson Valley HS QB, Levi Williams, just transferred through the portal from Wyoming to Utah for the 2022 season…..kid is fun to watch.
