I don't know if it was Jimbo or others but they seem to have gotten very organized and funded on the NIL thing quickly and are well ahead of the pack. I also don't think this class is all about NIL , I think it's about the entirety of A & M recruiting efforts being well organized and executed.

This seems all very shocking to me. Means we actually have a sharp ass AD.

The competence, professionalism and excellence (in areas they can control) that Jimbo has brought to the football program is incredible.

Hmmm, yeah. That's true. I didn't think super highly of him as a sports guy when we hired him, but anyone would be a step down on that front from Woodward, and we just needed Bjork to keep Jimbo and Buzz happy and give them time and resources to win. And he's doing that well. He has always struck me as an excellent AD on the business end, and for growing support. He likes to do stuff to excite fans, and even seems to listen to old Ags about what they like. Something as simple as him changing the "Home of the 12th Man" sign to show that he wants to fulfill simple, inconsequential fan desires was odd to me, but good.

And I'll give him credit on the sports end, too. My concern with him from Ole Miss was that Bianco hung around forever having not ever gotten over the top, similar to Childress and I would have fired Bianco. So I thought Bjork was scared to pull triggers and go searching. But nah, he came in and handled the end of the Childress era extremely well, then went out and made the simple, but great hire of Schloss.

In short, good point. Bjork deserves some credit around here!

He does deserve credit.
On the other hand, his PR skills are lacking. He flat out told reporters that a&m didn't want Texas in the SEC and came out of that one with egg all over his face. That was a pathetic series all around with our regents and our AD getting caught with their pants down.

A&M's brand is rather strong now. We've come a long way.

I don't think we will ever know the full extent of it, but the amount of money in NIL deals for this signing period has got to be incredible.

Just to add...the problem on the 40 acres is their admin and donor base all are "living in the past" and cannot get past their history. Hope they never shake off the dust.

Bjork is an excellent AD. Woodward made big hires, but overall I'd rather have Bjork

I can't bring myself to blame Bjork for that. The regents never should have voted in favor. The SEC should have paid a price for stabbing us in the back, even if it was only a PR hit. (Of course they eventually will pay the price, when the sip cancer metastasizes.)
