We live in such an overreactive, fast food, instant gratification society and it is sad! Too many Aggie fans are acting like Tiger, Horn and Sooner fans.

I want to bring a bit of a different perspective to consider. And believe me, I understand the disappointments that have occurred this season. However, there is certainly FAR more to celebrate than complain about.

How is Texas looking in comparison?
How is OU looking?
How is Florida doing?
How is LSU doing?
How is Clemson looking?
How is USC?
Is OSU dominating?

I could keep going on. If Cincinnati makes the CFP, there is a reason for this as a great majority of the perennial powers have struggled this year.

I am not making an excuse for the losses and how this offense has disappointed basically all season. But I do feel Jimbo's staff should get credit for all the band-aids needed to patch up this team and keep them very competitive in the strongest division in college.

It is too easy to be purely focused on the dream of a natty while not understanding that Jimbo does have a process in place. We HAVE to trust this.

In my opinion, Jimbo has a 7 year allowance to produce at minimum a team that plays for a natty. You might hate to hear this but if you look at history...this is a pretty typical timeline. Go ask Dabo and others.

I sure hope we get one before this but we play in one hell of a league. We are riding a rocket trajectory. Let's stay the course and do our best to be humble and have some degree of patience.

We just gotta win out and make sure to put a beat down on the crappy Tiger fans...go to a good bowl and end with 10 wins. This is something to celebrate and hopefully we won't have to experience anything like this next year. The talent pool grows steadily. Just missing a few pieces still.

Unfortunately we live in a world where if you aren't playing for a playoff spot then you aren't relevant at all in the mind of most fans.

It has been a disappointing year but I am excited for the future of the program. Not many programs in the country would be where we are with QB2.

Win out and a 10-3 season is great considering we've played with a subpar backup qb (who has a ton of heart) all season.

For sure. Then there are the other Aggie fans who would prefer to soak in negativity, ***** and whine. I have been there but refuse to be that Rollercoaster fan.

Gonna trust the process for the next 2 years before I consider the dark side of the fan base! Plus, life is so much happier looking for the good. And what's great? There is greatness everywhere in Aggieland.

There are no gimme games in the west this year. In some years, you might could work around injuries a little easier with intermittent games not being competitive. This year, if you played round robin with the west teams (excluding Bama) you could almost expect 3-2, 2-3 records for every team.

Yep, all we need to do is figure out how to actually score and maybe we'll creep above average. If it's not asking too much, maybe our "offensive guru" coach could watch other teams and figure out how they score.

1) At this point in the season, we have an elite level defense. Top 5 in the country. Excellence at all 3 levels.

2) Our OL is very young, but showing promise, some games more than others.

3) We have great skills position players, stacked at TE, RB, and a very good receiving corps.

4) We have two young QBs, one who went down for the season during game 2.

5) We just lost to a top 10 team in the country on the road in the SEC West, although we were competitive in the 2nd half. Major problems were our young QB making inaccurate throws and missing receivers, our young OL missing assignments in the running game, and, frankly, we just seemed to be affected by the cold weather worse than Ole Miss.

6) We have the #1 recruiting class in the country.

Bottom line: We have an elite level defense, and an offense that has struggled to find it's identity, due primarily to youth at QB and OL. That has resulted in some disappointing losses, but we are on the way up.

We are a three loss team with an unreliable offense. See how easy that was.

If it weren't for the missed assignments. So many….missed…..assignments.

one issue...A&M's 3 losses are against:

Ole Miss (8-2)
Arkansas (7-3)
Miss State (6-4)

these are good teams, but they are not top 10 and/or great teams (like the ones on A&M's killer 2019 schedule)
W

also...the Ags' have played one of their most cupcake non-conference schedules in quite a while:

Kent State (5-5)
Colorado (3-7)
New Mexico (3-7)

Very simple here the problem is the QB. Calzada is 12th out of 13 QBs in the SEC in QBR. If he were just performing to the level of #11, Max Johnson (LSU), we'd probably have 1 more win. If he were more like #10, Conner Bazelak (MIZ), we'd probably have 2 more wins. It's just that simple.

Waiting 82 years since a national championship and 23 years since a conference championship is way past instant gratification.

If you told me that we'd win a Natty in year 10 under Jimbo I'd gladly wait. All these negative Nancys are insufferable. Even if we don't win a Natty I love where Jimbo has us.

You should try it sometime. It's really fun and sometimes like this weekend, it's all you have.

10-3 and even 9-4 in the SEC West with a rookie QB and 4 new OL starters which includes a true fish center is above expectations. Frankly having to play a fish center and doing as well as we have is huge.

I get it that there is reason to be encouraged and we have a lot of promising young players but as a longtime Aggie fan the "we are young" narrative is a bitter pill to swallow every year.

I'd argue that if King never gets injured we are staring down a 11-1 (loss to ALA) season with a legit shot at a playoff spot. Just the way things go sometimes.

Then you lose the argument.

And how many of the 408 yds of O that Ol' Miss gained in the 1st were Calzada's fault?

People continue to talk about tempered expectations, OL issues, QB play, you name it. When you pay a coach $9M/yr & DON'T have high expectations, you are part of the problem.

I am not sure that Bama, this year, would not suffer 1 to 2 loses. Our division is tough and likely to get tougher.

Quite a few because if our offense had put a couple of drives together it would've limited their TOP, allowed us to make adjustments, and keep our defense fresh.

After losing back to back winnable games to Arkansas and Mississippi State, I thought Alabama would beat us by 21+ points. I did not expect better than a 7-5 regular season, and some thought we would finish last in the SEC West. After a 41-38 upset of No. 1 Alabama, we had won 3 consecutive SEC games against by 17+ points.

I knew the game at Ole Miss would be the toughest hurdle to winning out in the regular season. It turned into a round robin between Auburn, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss. Auburn defeated Ole Miss 31-20 on 10/30, and we defeated Auburn 20-3 on 11/6. Then, Ole Miss defeated us 29-19 this past Saturday. The home team won all 3 of these games by 10+ points.

We will have to beat LSU to finish with a winning SEC record of 5-3, a 9-3 regular season, and have an opportunity for a 10th win in our bowl game. Assuming LSU beats Louisiana Monroe next week, they will be playing us for bowl eligibility in Coach Ed Orgeron's final home game.

This is 100% accurate. We were a three and out machine in the first half. Our offense gave Ole Miss a touchdown AND a safety. And like all year we settled for field goals when we finally started to do something on offense.

The defense was hung out to dry the entire ballgame by our offense. Just like Arkansas. Just like Miss St. You could even say just like Auburn but the defense in that case just scored themselves to finish them off. Perhaps even Colorado?

I certainly don't want to downplay Calzada's toughness and his phenomenal game against Alabama but statistically he's just not getting it done in the aggregate. The failure of the offense to move the ball in the 1st half absolutely stressed our defense. However, even giving up all those yards the defense only surrendered 13 points. In fact you can make a plausible argument the defense only gave up 13 points as the other 16 were directly attributable to the offense. Certainly, nine points can be blamed 100% on the offense. Quite frankly even if you want to lay all 29 points at the feet of the defense that should be good enough to win on the road against that Ole Miss offense.

No one should be giving Fisher a pass as even with all of this all 3 losses were winnable ballgames. I do think the coaches have put the team in a position to win even with all the headwinds we have faced. We are close and Saturday night was disappointing but we have to be realistic about what happened to our season's goals in Denver when King went down.

We ran the ball 29 times vs the 108th ranked D. We threw the ball 41 times w/a QB many think isn't good enough. Saturday was a day when some of the **** for brains posters on TexAgs could've called a better game than the $9M coach.

Achane touched the ball 12 times. 12 times for 110.

Coach Fisher either outsmarted himself or was out coached by a guy so many here ridicule.

Which is it?

I'm not nearly as smart as many here about play calls, defensive formations and pre/post snap reads. However, from what I've been able to gather is that Ole Miss was running a 3-3 and while it looked like you could run they were in fact flooding the box post snap with defenders. The correct call, as frustrating as it was, is to pass. Ole Miss wanted us to run into their defensive alignment and were gambling we couldn't pass consistently. Their gamble paid off and they won.

I do wonder if we could have run more heavy sets to counteract their numerical advantage in the box allowing us to run more effectively. I would assume there are reasons we did not do this consistently.

The fact remains get an average SEC QB and all the sudden our offense looks way better. Coaches look smarter. Receivers look better. Running backs run better. OL looks better. Defense looks better. It's just that simple. We don't even need elite. Just SEC average.

Where this team stands is being a starting QB away from a10-0 or 9-1 record, maybe 8-2 at worst.

Basically every game we have played except USC, the only way those games are equal is if their QB breaks his leg on the 2nd play and we face QB2.
