#1 is what he wore on his jersey. He reminds me of Derek Farmer with his hard running and surprising toughness for someone his height and weight. Both run hard and fearless......but DA Is a lot faster...Farmer taller.... number 6 is is so fast that sometimes he deceptively looks like he's going slower than he is..

Keep in mind, I said " reminds me of," I think number six has got a bright future....college and leauge

He doesn't remind me of Farmer at all, but it can be funny to watch Achane glide away from a defender when Achane is waiting for a block to set up before he hits the gas.

I remember farmer being a punishing runner for his size, that's just kind of the feeling I get when I see DA not shy away from contact

To think he really hasn't been able to have a big game yet due to limited touches and the QBs not being able to see him consistently out of the backfield,, wait until he gets feature back touches next year.

Achane reminds me of Devon Achane

He is averaging 7.8 ypc on 151 career attempts, the next closest is 6.6 by Trey Williams

Idk if any of our legends are as direct a comparison as Alvin Kamara in my mind.

He should have had more touches. Period. I would love to see some power sweeps with pulling guards. We should also have Achane and Spiller in at same time.

This is the perfect reason to only give him 10-12 touches per game...

Ridiculous that he has so few touches. I love Spiller but Achane is a better back right now and it's not close. The more Achane touches it the better he gets. He needs more touches in the running and passing game. Brutally misused right now

"well Spiller has 3,000 career yards here…" - Jimbo. This was jimbo's postgame excuse for not putting Achane in the game while averaging 9 ypc the entire game. You have to wonder about his offense-related mental acuity at some point. He keeps losing us games by this simple choice, and that's not even including his average to below-average passing schemes a real OC solves.

I've listened to Jimbo's post-game excuses like the broken record that they are: "We just missed that one block...if someone's feet position would have been six inches to the left, we would have broken that for a TD...his reads were spot on, just his ball release was a little off...". This is the first time that I've heard him make an excuse that was completely unjustifiable. His "career yards"? Just admit that you don't like going with the hot hand and you consider "other things" - leave it to the imagination why you refuse to hand the ball to the best player on our team.

You are completely clueless. You have absolutely no idea what our passing schemes are. To say you do is beyond dumb.

Or he knew we were in a must throw situation and Spiller is a better pass blocker than Achane and he didn't want to openly say that in front of the media. I swear some of you are just looking for things to ***** about.

He runs nothing like and not even close to Farmer.

There's really not one Aggie running back he run similar to.

On the drive where we pulled within 5 points (A&M 10-Ole Miss 15), Achane had runs of 16, 6, and 24 (TD run) yards. The very next possession, we went three-and-out...handing it to Spiller all three times...apparently not a "must throw situation".

Spiller is a solid RB option. Maybe he's a better pass blocker - I haven't noticed much difference between him and Achane. But that wasn't the question asked by the media ("Why was Spiller in the game?") it was why he wasn't handing the ball to Achane instead of Spiller when Achane obviously had the hot hand for the day.

Reggie Bush. Just smaller. He needs more touches in the passing game.

i can see and get jimbo and his wording in the post game, i'm sure he wants to protect the players, their relationships, protect the locker room etc.. but he better have in the back of his mind that he knows he screwed up and work to handle it better in games moving forward (but the concern would be i don't know if he does have that in the back of his mind… and that would be concerning).

Agree with Noah, that's the closest analogy. Maybe a little Cy Gray, maybe a little Mike Goodson, but he is uniquely his own.

Count me as seeing some 'Lectric Leeland in him.

My enduring image of Farmer is when he trucked Ben Leber in Manhattan.

My mistake, I thought this was in reference to the drive of the first interception. I can agree that Achane deserves more touches but he is not the pass blocker that Spiller is. Now its not a huge difference but it is a difference and Calzada already seems to peek at the pass rush more than he should. Having the better of the 2 blockers in, should give him a little more confidence to keep his eyes downfield.

I can only assume that Spiller will continue to get his touches based on history and Jimbo seems to be a pretty loyal guy to those who he trusts and have obviously put in the work.

Sometimes I think Achane runs a lot like Jorvorskie Lane, and other times I think nah, more like Jamar Toombs. Honestly, he doesn't run EXACTLY like either one, but it's pretty close.

I was thinking the same thing. He's a JTrain and Toombs hybrid.

Time to move Smith back to running back and start playing the freshman rb from Miami. At any one time, 2 of them on the field, including Achane. Smith has no help at wr. Put 6'5 kid who hasn't seen field the entire time he's been here in one slot. The other one from north Carolina in the other slot. All they do is run vertical. This offense has become slow. Try something. Anything. What is Fisher saving them for? Get more speed out of backfield. Use them like Smith with Bama against Ohio St. Speed there is this team's strength. This offense like watching water boil.

Your welcome.

Dante was shifty, sneaky and quick

McElroy was fasted man on the field, no one could catch him
