When these are the positives they point out it's such a neon sign of weakness . I would think recruiting rivals could show this to recruits and just laugh about it.

I guess the time ran out on claiming Alabama's national championship.

Bud Wilkinson brought in the first black players in the 50s to ou. Switzer wasn't head coach there until 73. Royal while slow to start, was recruiting them well by then. Earl Campbell etc. ring a bell?

Many years ago I had a customer who was a Regent at the time. I asked him why Emory was canned. He was the best HC we had in awhile. The Regent said " Emory was bringing in too many players that didn't meet the type of student criteria that we want." Of course he meant the black athletes that were the stars of Emory teams. I was sick because he was fired. We didn't come out of that funk until Jackie came.. The Big Cigars had huge influence in those days. JIMBO it appears has got control of our football team now. Maybe not 100% but those days from back then are gone forever
