FBS (I-A) Conference Schedule - 2021 - NCAAF - ESPN

We are #17 in the AP poll. If the goal this week is to simply move up, here's what we want:

#16 Wake Forest to lose to Army - probably won't happen

#15 Kentucky - bye week

#14 Coastal Carolina already lost to App State, so that helps

#13 Notre Dame to lose at home to USC - probably not likely

#12 Ole Miss to lose to LSU - who knows what this game will be like?

#11 Iowa - bye week

#10 Oregon to lose to UCLA - this could happen, game is at the Rose Bowl


Games involving A&M non-conference opponents:

Kent State at Ohio U - should be an easy win for KSU

Colorado at Cal - both are really terrible teams, anything could happen

New Mexico at Wyoming - Lobos are likely to get the snot beat out of them


Other SEC West teams:

Tennessee at Alabama - Bama wins easily

Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Arkansas- this is the Hogs' Prairie View game

Mississippi State at Vanderbilt - this will be 100-0 at halftime

Other than our games the rest of the season, our best chance for something magical this season (cfp) is Bama losing one more and us going to the sec cg. So the most important game today other than ours is Bama vs Tennessee at 6 on ESPN. Doubtful that's the one Bama drops I think it's the least likely of their remaining 4 but worth tuning in.

Other than that it would be great from a chaos scenario standpoint the more top 25 0 and 1 loss teams lose, unfortunately most are 20 + point favorites today.

Wake Forest has a great chance to get upset to start the day and Oklahoma state and Oregon in the afternoon, notre dame tonight. Getting 3 of those 4 would be great and any huge 2007 like upsets on top of that would be a bonus.

I actually think wake losing to army is very likely. That game is at West Point. The only reason it may not happen is wake had a bye last week and has 2 weeks to prepare for army. But wake is not a good team and army easily could win.

Ohio also has good shot to win today. Will stay within the number is my bet

I disagree on the LSU Ole Miss game. We have to beat those two teams no matter what, so I'd rather Ole Miss be ranked as high as possible when we play them.

Pretty terrible slate this week, but there are some interesting 2:30 matchups

Iowa state (unranked) is favored at home over #8 Okie Lite (2:30 FOX)

UCLA (Unranked) slightly favored at home over #10 Oregon (2:30 ABC)

Resurgent LSU vs. Ole Miss (2:30 CBS)

Pitt favored to put a 3rd loss on struggling Clemson (2:30 ESPN)

The top 10 is interesting this year, OU has sucked, Cinci only plays 2 teams with a pulse all year, and now two top 10s are dogs to unranked opponents. Feels like a particular house of cards fueled by weak schedules.

Mater Dei vs Servite tonight at 7:00 SoCal time...MD #1 nationally, Servite #8. Bitter, bitter rivals. MD, Servite and St. John Bosco are all ranked in the Max Preps top ten and are all in the same conference. Mater Dei has already beaten SJB; Servite plays SJB next week.. Game is SRO at 14/15000 capacity.

Other than that, TAMU vs Carolina

#8 OkieSt is an underdog against unranked Iowa St at 2:30 on FOX.

This is the correct take. I would much rather ole Miss Be in the top 10 and for us to get an enormous road, November win… and for LSU to drop several more between now and when we play them to have them tank the season/ opt out whatever

The Pickoff here on Texags lists all the games and times. Better to look here than visiting lsu site and needing a shower afterwards.

This. We need to beat as high a ranked ole miss as possible and then have the benefit of not have to worry about a downtrodden LSU team that has quit.

Here's the cheat sheet for the rest of the season, in priority order:

Root for whoever is playing Bama. If Bama loses again, we control our destiny.
Root against the top four. If Cincy or Oklahoma loses a game, a 2 loss team is much more likely to get in.
Root against team ranked ahead of us unless they are on our schedule and we haven't played them yet.
Root for team that are on our schedule unless they fall into one of the prior groups.

Wake, Ole Miss, and Oregon won. Kentucky has a bye. I expect Penn to drop a lot. Oklahoma St lost, but don't see them dropping much.

Penn State losing in "OT" (ain't real OT unless it lasts seven hours!) to Illinois is that much less of a chance that a second B1G team will make the playoffs.

Oregon looked even more mortal. They will not make the playoffs even at 12-1.

Clemson is genuinely having a bad year now. Is this a one-off, or an aberration?

On this day seventeen years ago, the Ags beat Colorado and I was getting score updates passed to me during my own wedding reception. (It was supposed to be an 11am kickoff, damnit!)

Because I do not have cable, I just watch whatever is on network TV. I watched some of the Northwestern vs Michigan game on Fox and the LSU vs Ole Miss game on CBS. Then, I switched to ABC to catch the last 2:08 of the Oregon vs UCLA game. I will be watching the Indiana vs Ohio State game on ABC while streaming the South Carolina game.
