Looks like we picked the wrong coach. Leach does more with less. Jimbo has better recruits, facilities, and more money for himself and assistants. It's obvious now that Jimbo will never be able to compete with the elite SEC teams. He can't even beat the lower tier teams which we have become. Pretty remarkable.

You pretty much just have to laugh about it now. He has owned us since the 1900's. And the only time we were ever any good is when his QB was coaching us.

You would think he would need more time to get the right players for his system to be able to compete with us. Apparently he doesn't buy into wait until next year when X position has more experience.

Behind that drunken, vacant stare there is an offensive mastermind. The hal mumme coaching tree is full of them. Leach's strategy is to win with a thousand cuts. It's essentially ground and pound through the air.

Miss St won 4 games last year and is 3-2 this year. One would think from reading this thread they won it all last year and are 5-0 this year.

Here's the thing about Leach and about A&M….they'd be a horrible combo. He can coach at outlying outposts because he absolutely hates being a glad-hander and a schmoozer to alumni/political figures. Hates it with his entire being.

Now imagine that coach and mindset at A&M, with all of the former students, 12th Man Foundation, and all the BMDs around here. Even if he came here and won, people would hate him because he doesn't "get" A&M.

So instead, it's hiring old assistants here that "get" the culture of its hiring the big name available from the South to enjoy these resources and facilities. The only hire unlike any of these in 40 years was getting Jackie Sherrill from Pitt. And it took a few years, but when he got it going, look what it did. It doesn't matter nowJimbo is going nowhere with a gigantic contract that isn't getting bought out at anytime over the next 4-5 yearsbut maybe next time, that's the play. Get someone here that wins with less resources and just brings in fresh ideas for an actual modern offense.
