12th Man Productions flashed a short promo video commemorating 100 years of the 12th Man. Ended with a shot of bonfire and the text "Coming in 2022."

Perhaps to coincide with an early entry of the Sips to the SEC?

If it comes back to campus it will be a shadow of its former self. No way risk management/lawyers/insurance allows students to lead and perform cut and stack, the parts that matter most. If it's less than the real deal, then it just undermines the authentic off campus Bonfire.

The only way it ever comes back to campus the right way is a special grant of blanket immunity to the university from the legislature and a red@ss administration.

No way it comes back to campus as a student-led operation.

If I was to bet money I would think the admin would bring it back to campus the year we play tu.

The bonfire will be built with hired contractors because like other posters have said about liability and insurance.

Student involvement will probably be something lame. Something like a "big event" deal, except the students go plant trees to GoGreen! Instead of cutting and loading. And then probably head yell leader will get to light the bonfire.

You got to think today's student population wasn't alive when there was an on campus bonfire. Majority of them probably don't care about bonfire.
With ResLife gutting communities/cultures in dorms (tearing down Northside dorms Crocker, Moore, McInnis, and making Walton freshman only and coed) they effectively killed student bonfire.

Admin will put on a "pep rally bonfire." Current students won't care about previous bonfire traditions (not like they care about current traditions, see Sully) and old ags will just accept the "new and improved bonfire" because we always roll over and accept whatever the admin tells us to.

The Dixie Classic was played January 2, 1922.

The centennial, then, would be coming in 2022.

Though none of the centennial videos I could find show anything about bonfire.

We have computers.

Just build a virtual bonfire, and everyone can stream it.

No trees are killed, and the earf is saved.

And you could program so the centerpole always stays up past midnite.

Kid's emphasize "YOU" in the war hymn.

What makes you think they are capable of a halfway competent stack?

Where would it be built? Next to Bonfire Memorial?

Come on, Ags. Rest, already.

The one thing I was looking forward to with cow in the SEC would be a renewed interest in and substantial growth of student bonfire off campus, especially if cow became our last game every season.

I have ZERO interest in an on-campus bonfire that is built by an outside firm with zero input, help, labor, etc. by students. Just something built by an outside contractor that Aggies just show up to. That sounds awful and pathetic.

Student bonfire has shown it can be done and done successfully. But with the liability issues I just don't ever see it back on campus with an amount of student involvement.

Keep the off-campus student bonfire, and hopefully it will grow to what it used to be.
