I grew up in a small town between Austin and College Station. We would play football in the yard with the neighbors and everyone was either "the longhorns" or "the aggies". It was a sad day for me when we played tu for the last time in the big 12, although I was excited about the move to the SEC. I for one and am excited at the opportunity to trounce texas on an annual basis. We have a better team currrently, better coach, right now, we are the more established program. Will adding them to the SEC remove a key recruiting argument for us, Yes. But I'm way more excited to play one of the historic rivalry games that I grew up watching with my family every thanksgiving and getting the game that needs to be played back on the schedule. Some things are more important than money or who "wins" in the alignment. Play the damn game, one way or the other.

I'm looking forward to watching texas getting beat on a weekly basis. It could actually BOOST our recruiting.

I agree with that. We left and 10 years have gone by. I would never like to play that game again.

If they do get in and we have to I honestly hope A&M has the balls to keep the lsu game as our rivals on that weekend. In my option it only makes us look week wanting to get back into the same mentality as only thinking about that Thanksgiving game against liberal u. Need to make it just a normal game in October and act like we do not care about them.

If not we fall back into the same little brother mentality which we are 10 years removed from now!

They can forever go eat a bag of d****. They tried to drag us to the PAC without asking, and then screwed the entire Big 12 with the LHN.

They will screw us again in a heartbeat if it came down to it.

So much this. The SEC usually schedules the Georgia/Auburn game the last weekend in October. They should schedule the A&M/tu game the same weekend. The deep south oldest rivalry and the southwest oldest rivalry. They could play at 3:30 and we could play at 8:00.

No. tu/espn is forcing us back into a mini-big12 pod. Just no.

Sorry, but that last game we played with them still reminds me as to why I was happy to never play them again.

Only some of this is about 'the game'. Every poster who gets on here and only focuses on the pro/con of playing them again is completely missing the key points raised a jillion times. The whorns are selfish, toxic, arrogant, entitled, whiny f*cos who poison any league they have been a part of in recent history, will now take some of our SEC recruiting advantage, and we have to listen ad nauseum to addl media spin about how they are the 2nd f'in coming. If we play then we'll kick their ass.

I've never read a post with more whining bitc**s in it than this one. Man up, we are a damn good team, and every one of you whining pus***s make us look softer than 10 ply. Bring 'em on, saw 'em off and Thanksgiving will be right with the world again. Full of Turkey and Dressing, and hate served cold..... Gig Em!

Hey I've enjoyed watching them languish for the last several years, and I would enjoying watching the Aggies destroy them on the field for the next several years even on Thanksgiving .
