This link from DeLoss Dodds, former tu AD foreshadowed where they wanted to go 10 years ago in this clip. Our SEC brethren need to get up to speed PDQ on how Berkeley East operates.

Only Bama, Florida, and Georgia can be assured that they won't be left behind. LSU - they don't consider them to be worthy despite their record and recent history. Don't think for a minute that Bama and tu wouldn't relish the opportunity to leave Auburn and Texas A&M holding the bag along with the SEC.
UT, the original older one, one of the "Big 6", won't be going either.

Disney/ESPN is a willing back room participant, if not orchestrating this.
This is the equivalent of the Euro Super League recent debacle. If Arkansas, Missouri, USC, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vandy, Miss State, and Ol'Miss vote for this, and take the short term money, it will come back to bite them.

NFL has 32 teams. a cfb premier league could have that many. LSU and A&M would both be in that league

Your comment makes me wonder if you actually watched the video in the link. The horns miss judged the viability of the B12 without A&M, Colorado, Nebraska, and Missouri. They also miss judged the viability of the longhorn network. Thats it.

I think within 10 years college football will look radically different due to nil and 1-4 super conferences.

We would have zero to worry about here.

The best way to do this is to have one conference that has all FBS teams in it. Then you can kind of segregate the teams based on factors like geography, budget, etc. Maybe have the teams close to the pacific coast play each other, have the teams in the southeastern part of the country play each other, put a dumpster in the middle of the country, set in on fire, and then have some teams play there. Then the best teams from each league can play each other toward the the end of the year. Wham, bam, thank you ma'am, problem solved.

Strengthening the league is good for the SEC and the schools in it, including A&M (despite the concern here).

However, a new massive national league would be a disaster for the individual schools such as A&M to have any sort of freedom or choice in their association in any way.

The first thing that happens in any 32 or 64 team super league is that all control in any process exerted by any individual school decreases to almost nothing and now TV goes back to the old days of simply being controlled and all decisions made nationally. The first thing that will happen is that A&M will end up back with the same regional teams in Texas and the midwest when the league is divided into subregions. Lower interest games, fewer games in the best time slots, etc etc etc

The irony here is that most people believe we are a big time program but we as a fan base refuse to believe. That is why OU and tu joining the SEC would cause an existential crisis with our fan base. Other than that I agree with what you are saying.

Meh, atm also brings a lot of money to the table. Like. A lot. Not texas a lot but a lot.

They are in with any major national conference.

You aren't thinking in the new way. It's about money. Money above absolutely all else.

We're #2 in money we're not going anywhere

Sip is toxic & will most probably look to destroy the conference & mid tier teams in the conference

The Mississippis, vandy, kentucky, mizzou, & Arky probably get left behind in this scenario

These schools should be against sip more than us, but ignorance is bliss

Seriously, that's what the smaller sec schools should worry about. The sips will push the mega conference, and leaving small fish behind. Newsflash that ain't A&M.

I am. I see that as streaming eyeballs become more important, and the cable user fee becomes a lower percentage over time, then the underlying geography that ties into that becomes less important. I also know that our games since we joined the SEC have on average had a much higher rating on average than the former erstwhile Jones "with more money than the Vatican" have continued to slip. They had to make this move. The NFL draft continues to point out that the BigDFXii-II was headed toward G5 status; P5 in name only.

It was expected they would have to cry uncle at some point after ND signed their deal with ACC and work something out with the SEC, who they deemed to be of lesser quality.

I am also reminded there are parallels to the migration of people away from Dem controlled areas after they screw that up.

Between this and the NIL, college football will irrevocably be changed, for the worse.
