There's risk in everything. Herman was supposedly the next can't miss coach with the pedigree and we saw how that turned out. Whatever advantages they had weren't enough. It's not just the conference. Sure I don't want the sips in the conference, but it's more than that to be successful.

If they want to play big boy SEC football, that should be their introduction.

Georgia will want revenge and redemption for their miserable performance against them in the bowl game. I picked Ole Miss because of Kiffin. But Leach at Miss State may have more motivation to humiliate them, too.

To go from a no defense league to the SEC will be a challenge.

Assume that normality may allow for a schedule with 6 conference games & 6 out of conference matches. We should assume that out of the 6 conference games they probably are competitive in 4 of them and win 2 of those. Depending upon when & who their out of conference games end up they probably skew more favorably and win 4 of those. They go 6-6 & end up in the Belk bowl or if somehow the Big-12 survives this playing in Dallas, San Antonio, or Houston against Baylor, TCU, or Iowa St. & they are competitive maybe winning.

They will feel the error made for money every time they play a school w/ a non-standard "all gas, no brakes" SEC school whose goal is to put 50+ pts on the board.

They will feel the error every time they play a SEC blue chip who wears out offensive lines after the 1st quarter b/c their whole defense will be going to the NFL the following year after their Sophomore year.

They will feel the error every time a supposed rival schools then on why the SEC is the toughest conference.

They will feel the error every time their fans take their own vehicles to the LSU game in Baton Rouge, wear Orange & get too drunk in the stands.

No way they don't force us to play them year one.

I want them in our conference as much as I want an std, but if they are in then we should play them. The best way to negate any momentum and recruiting advantage is to whip their ass.

I think a better question would be how many long it will be before the rest of the SEC realizes they signed up for conference AIDS by bringing in the $ips.

No. The best way is to keep them where they are now as hostages of a conference they made.

What you are suggesting is the only way left. Which is true. But let's not pretend our consolation prize is the trophy win.

As soon as first thing doesn't go their way, and big10 comes up with a better offer.

They don't really want the sec.

I think by year 3 Texas will be back. There will be a group that I think we will be a part of too that is racking up a bunch of wins compared to the others in the conference.

I think their first move will be to try and get unequal money or kick out some of the SEC bottom feeders. Neither will probably work but this is how they operate.
