How long do you want to ignore this user?

Again it sure seems like this is about contract negotiating and not texas actually wanting to leave.

It isn't like the whorns ever act with duplicity. I wouldn't trust them either way. What if big12 some how comes up with a great offer, then they can say see the sec wanted us but we are big12 all the way.

This is definitely the catalyst. Good reporting by this guy.

I bet the whorns have been shopping themselves around to all the power conferences ever since.

But that ignores OU. They wanted out before too and thought they were going with us to the SEC at one point. I doubt they go down that path again just to negotiate the TV rights.

SEC never invited them. They crawled to the SEC to bail their asses out of the very bad decisions they made.

Some people on the Texas side are saying OU is the driver behind this. Texas look around and shrugged and said you might be right, OU.

A&M is the driver of this bus. Unfortunately, we may have to let the whorns and methheads on.

Nothing frightens the tu big wigs more than A&M actually winning a national title and becoming richer. If A&M was getting its ass kicked and not raking in cash, I doubt they'd be willing to play follow the leader to TAMU.

tu and ou are tapping out right now, and it is because of us no matter how the big12 clown twins spin it.

Now this makes more sense.

Big 12 would not have something ready the next day after this coming out. What a silly thing to state. Sips trying to control the narrative like always.

OU, maybe you should look for a new partner. I don't care about you (much) but your burnt orange little friend is persona non grata.

Texas definitely wants to leave. They have one big conference game per year, and it is played at a neutral site. They have a stadium that seats over 100K. Getting A&M and Arkansas every year plus rotating Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee would be huge for their home schedule.

It ain't all because of us. D-day is approaching for all college football programs across the country and you will either survive and thrive in the new paradigm -or- life as you've known it for 50 years will end.

Sip and Sooner know this but it's approaching faster than expected. They aren't desperate yet, but they know they will be if they don't get out of the wreck they're in soon. The rest of the BDF are dead men walking.

it's possible that OU and t.u. could turn on one another.

would not be the first time it's happened

If that is what floats their boat, I'm fine with it, just as long as they don't dock in our port.

UT, OU plan to leave the BIG 12, sources say

A little more specifics on timing. Do not believe this is a negotiating ploy.

I'm no expert (not even close) on legal matters but I saw this in an ESPN article:

One potential obstacle for such a move, at least any time soon, is that Oklahoma and Texas signed a Big 12 grant-of-rights agreement, in which they granted their first- and second-tier media rights for football and men's basketball to the conference through June 30, 2025. That means the Big 12 would still own those schools' media rights for those sports -- even if they are no longer members -- until the agreement expires.

Couple this with the LHN I see lots of lawyers getting lots of money.

Starting to look that way, Looch said that the media renewal offer for the big 12 was super underwhelming.

Just like everyone with a brain knew would happen. Big XII had a chance to rebuild with expansion and get back to divisional play but they managed to screw that up too.

I swear, if were still in the Big XII, I'd be screaming to ditch Bowlsby and bring Beebe back. And I hated Beebe. Bowlsby is worse.

Now the sips believe they will control Sankey just like the have every single Big XII commissioner. And Sankey seems to be that pliable to them right now. Bama will not like that at all when the SEC HQs are moved to Houston from Birmingham.

"I want what I want or I want a divorce." Is not a negotiating tactic, it's saying I want a divorce, but I'll try to get a little extra before I leave you with as little as I can.
