(**TexAgs Disclaimer**) I have faith that Jimbo will adjust where necessary and we'll be fine. I also know I'm a nobody and Jimbo doesn't need my advice in anyway. (**End of Disclaimer**)
I think 3 or 4 blue-chips (4*/5*) per year will end up at tu/ZeroU that would have gone to A&M before this news. What should the strategy be to not only break even, but continue to push toward Bama/tOSU/UGA-level dominance in recruiting? I have some ideas:
1) Be the strong 2nd school for Louisiana kids: Make L$U sweat more for the local boys. Getting Holstein is a great start, but the goal should be to get 1 or 2 blue-chips per year that wouldn't have left LA before, using NIL and beating L$U consistently...
2) Be #1 in assistant coach's salaries every year: We should have more OAs/DAs than Alabama. Hire away top GAs from UGA/Bama/tOSU, like Nick Williams. Don't worry about the dead money from buyouts for the D. Craig-type of coaches. If most or all the extra money from the tu/ZeroU inclusion goes to ACs and turning star GAs into OAs/DAs, it's a wise investment. Again, the goal should be to get 1 or 2 blue-chips per year that wouldn't have come before (Ex. Smoke Bouie)...
3) Invest heavily into PAC-12 country: tu/ZeroU to the SEC 100% kills the PAC-12 from having a chance to grow into a super-conference. There's no worthwhile teams left to pluck! 1/4 of the country is sitting there waiting to be harvested! It doesn't matter that Jimbo has never had to go West before. Time to start NOW! Once again, 1 or 2 blue-chips per year that wouldn't have before is what is needed.
What do you guys think?
