Foil Hat theory
- ESPN pulling the strings to get this done. They see the writing on the wall with super conferences/NIL/etc. and realize the BigXII and the deal they made starting in '24(?) is not a good one. They can merge the LH Network assets into SEC Network, have an out for the contract when the conference implodes or "changes substantially" and gain greater eyeballs and interest in many more random matchups with those two involved.
Random musings
- To expand on many of the threads, the SEC powers haven't really been involved with ut as we have. The money game is great until you realize the wolf you let in. I liken it to people moving to Texas from California
(no not all)...leave a place you let waste away and then do the same thing again. OK
- They won't win, but all the other schools should join Baylor this time and sue them together.
- I'd enjoy seeing Baylor relegated to the AAC
- Can we bring back the billboard campaign again, but directed to new groups?
Personal Thoughts
-There is good and bad with this (mostly bad). Bad for my marriage, as I have a sooner wife and these last 10 years have been quite a bit better come football season. Bad for all the other reasons we left the conference as well as letting the crazy exes back into the life. Good for random matchups and possible better conference rotation, money. That's about it.
Bottom Line
- It's all about money. Given how the NIL is changing things and ESPN/Conferences will be the new NCAA at some point, it's bound to happen.
