The idea that "it's only a matter of time, expect an announcement in a few weeks" is garbage. Makes no relational or fiscal sense for the SEC to entertain this.

They'll just move the Mississippi teams to the east and round it out with 16.

Wouldn't the support more likely come from South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Kentucky? Those are the states who would agree to vote against Georgia Tech, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, or Louisville ever joining the SEC.

Yes in previous expansion votes the SEC schools supported schools that did not want instate rivals by blocking their entry. A&M's opposition probably blocks the Bevos. Oklahoma though is a different matter all together.
