We need more powerhouses in CFB to make this more interesting, and A&M is headed to become one also.

I want us to come in and DISMANTLE his throne. I want it to get ugly and for Saban to be forced into retirement.

I want him to hang around through 2023 so he can put 2 beatdowns on the sips.

Yup. Add Sark to the list of former assistants that failed against Saban and let Jimbo be the first to get a win.

They are so deep talent-wise, and add 5 stars like crazy, unless they hire a real moron they will still be the team to beat 3 to 6 years after he retires.

they did not dominate in the front 7 like in years past. Not as much star power on defense this season

Saban will continue to stack 5 stars two and possibly 3 deep at key positions until he retires. It would be nice for him to do so, but Dabo needs to sign a HUGE extension and a bigger buyout at Clemson just before Saban retires or he'll end up "home at Bama" and this will continue.

However, it would be nice to see Jimbo be the first assistant to beat Saban, his former HC, while being HC at TAMU. That would be a statement win that could be a catalyst of epic proportions for us.

I don't know why I got this feeling tonight but with this being his 7th natty and after this crazy year I would not be surprised to see 2021-22 be his victory lap. Arguably the greatest CFB coach of all time and he really doesn't have anything else left to prove.

No need to retire, I'm hearing he is hiring Bill O'Brien as his OC. Ask the Texans, that's a self imposed death penalty.

They won't miss a beat with O'Brien. We said the same thing with sarkisian when he became oc. Until saban leaves, Alabama will be the best team in the league.

He hasn't had anything to prove for years, but I just don't think the guy knows how to switch off. He probably went home and started planning his next recruiting visit last night.

Several Finebaim guests this season have indicated that Saban while shutdown and stuck at home for a little bit due to COVID this year...got a taste of how boring retirement might be....and intends to coach at least 10 more years until his 80's...health permitting. Dude isn't anywhere close to retirement.

They have not really taken a step back. The SEC offenses have finally just about all joined the 21st century making the statistical domination in non-meaningful stats of the past not possible in today's game. Even so, Alabama still led SEC in scoring defense this year.

Barmore is a beast on the DL; Harris Moses & Allen probably best LB corps in the country. Surtain player of the year.

The star power is there, but college football has changed for almost being all about offense. Even Saban now acknowledges offense wins games.

He's gotta get a ring for every finger first..... And then a ring for every one of his toes.... Then he'll retire

A guy like Saban can push a rock up hill for eternity and be content doing it. He is incapable of being happy and the only thing that shuts up the demons is very hard work.

You might have a father or brother that fits this mold. I have known several. All successful people but all miserable.

It'd be hilarious if and when Saban does retire and dawns on Sark that he could've been a candidate for the Alabama job. More booze...

How is he destroying everyone else's interest in the game when good Bama games always have the highest viewership?

I don't want Saban gone until he's ready. When our talent level gets close to his, I think we beat him over 50% of the time.

Saban is a great coach.

But did you see the top 10 recruiting classes of all time? Saban has about 6 of those since 2010, including this year.
