This. The departing OL will be the biggest impact on next year's season. We had an incredible OL this year.

I expect to take a small step back next year breaking in a new QB and OL, but I think we can get to 9 regular session wins.

The lineman replacing our seniors this year are more talented, they just need time to grow and gel, and the QB needs experience running the system.

Realistically, 2022 is our next shot at the playoff, but I'm excited about our future based on who is in the pipeline.

I think we play the pigs in Fayetteville.

There can't be any steps back. We then have to start over. We are expected to only drop 1 at max 2. The field and narrative is set, let's do it again. Take every game seriously and with intent.

OL drop off will hurt a bit but if we have a medium to long range passing game with run execution it could help take off pressure and give time early to figure it out.

King looks good, what if he didn't throw that interception on his Bama drive, closes it out and we only lose by 21. Would have been in the CFP, tough lesson.

FL and ND don't have a better OL now than what we have next yr. if they start confusing w blitzes we dump some screens on them. Jimbo's got this, just need consistent play so he knows how to scheme.

King may be an upgrade. Still has to play itself out. And even then he's going to have his growing pains too.

This is where those first 4-5 games will be huge in getting the new OL and QB some experience. If manage to win those first five then look out!

I assume we return the majority of the OL. We have something like 8 draft eligible defensive starters. I assume we return 5-6.

We will have more talent on our roster than everyone we play next year except Bama and LSU. The only problem is so much of it is young and untested.

Our record will depend on two things:
1. How soon do young and/or new starters gel and get up to speed.
2. How big of a cluster*****is LSU going to be.

And then there's always a team that comes from nowhere that might jump up and bite us.

I think 8-4 would be a disaster of a season.
9-3 would be a little disappointing
10-2 would be chalk based on talent alone.
11-1 is possible if LSU is still a train wreck.

If you're calling 10-2 "chalk" you're being overly aggressive. Football is more than just pure talent, unless you are so superior athletically. Experience matters too. We aren't quite to the point where we just reload. Lots of question marks. If someone gave you 10-2 next year right now, you take it and run IMO. 8-4 or 9-3 are well within the realm of possibilities.

Tee Martin was a senior, king will only be a freshman with a couple of mop up games under his belt

I like our chances better if we get bama later in the season

Which is why we'll probably have them early again

Jimbo will be able to focus just on King. King has intelligence and desire to be the best. He will learn quickly and retain the knowledge given better than Mond. He will be a stud.

That's a bold prediction. I'm hoping King can get it done but by and large new quarterbacks don't fare well in their first season running the show. History isn't on our side on this one.

Seriously? These are intersting statements. Are you saying Mond didn't want to be the best? And you know this how? Again, I hope King can lead the Aggies to a natty but these types of comments seem completely subjective and more hopeful than anything. There is no evidence to suggest King is more intelligent or a better decision maker than Mond to this point. He hasn't even started a game yet so how do you arrive at these opinions? Odds are overwhelming that the team takes a step back next year trying to replace a veteran QB and Oline. I hope a lot of people level set their expectations for 2021 or there's gonna be a lot of *****ing and moaning on these boards.

History will not repeat neg Nancy. Grow a pair and handicap, watch the King drive against Bama in garbage time. He missed a read or two but was fluid and accurate down the field.

Except for the one goal line interception that would have brought us within 21 and put us in the CFP. Lesson learned, he will produce. He throws a few picks but for whatever reason Mond couldn't hook up on the deeper routes. Cancel each other out and we go 11-1.

Agreed but King Year 1 will not be as good or better than Mond Year 4. King Year 2+ I expect an upgrade at QB1 position.
