You guys are overthinking this way too much. Let me spell it out...whoever loses the ACCc is out. We're in providing Bama beats FL.
#1 - Bama
#2 - ACC winner
#3 - tOSU
#4 - the good guys
We are not getting in over a 1 loss Notre Dame team unless Clemson just destroys ND from the opening gun ... and even then it could be a push
I actually think we would because Notre Dame's claim to fame is beating Clemson without their best player at ND. I think that if Clemson comes out and avenges their loss on a neutral field, then we can get in.
What would be absolutely insane is the following:
-Florida beats Bama (not going to happen, but fun to think about)
-Clemson blows out ND (likely)
-tOSU loses to Iowa or Northwestern (possible)
Clemson #1
Bama #2
Florida #3
TAMU #4
Look I see what you're saying and I agree if ND doesn't win they should be left out.
However ND is undefeated, if they had 1 loss Then yes different story.
But if ND loses it will come down to
1 loss ND who lost in the conference title game to the #3 team who they already beat this season.
Vs
1 loss A&M team who already got beat by Bama by 28 points. And while ND lost their 1st game it was an extra game due to advancing to conference title game. Something A&M did not do.
If Clemson beats ND and Ohio St wins then ND will be the #4 team and matchup with Bama.
Committee would say then " ok A&M already had a shot at Bama and got blown out.. ND is more deserving"
Again not saying I agree... but that's how I see it playing out.
Imo only shot A&M has at the playoffs is a Clemson or Ohio State loss.
