Is there any world in which we don't jump OSU with a win at UT?

We'd have to eke out a close, nail-biter win for it to not get us to #4, right?

Independently of the Bama/Florida result, we will jump OSU with any kind of comfortable win.

Now if Bama just takes care of business, we're in damn good shape.

Reasoning? They'd need a damn good argument for leaving a 5-0 team above us.

You guys are overthinking this way too much. Let me spell it out...whoever loses the ACCc is out. We're in providing Bama beats FL.

#1 - Bama
#2 - ACC winner
#3 - tOSU
#4 - the good guys

We haven't jumped them yet so no reason to do so if we beat a crappy ass Tennessee team.

We won't jump OSU. All we can hope for is a Bama win and a ND win. That is our only path. Bama will spank Florida but I'm not sure if Nd can beat Clemson again
Brian Earl Spilner

Unfortunately I think Clemson beating ND leaves both of them above us.

We're talking Tennessee?

Boat raced by Offense-less Kentucky Tennessee?

2-6 in the SEC East Tennessee?

That Tennessee?

Yeah I'm sure the committee cares about that.

Find your way to this world to find a place where your scenario could play out.

It's an SEC road win in late December, and a team who didn't play that week above us. It's more about the timing than building up the resume.

Yes, this matters. Should it? No. But it does.

Ohio State will be 6-0 win a win over Northwestern or Iowa

OSU will have a game that day as well.

We are not getting in over a 1 loss Notre Dame team unless Clemson just destroys ND from the opening gun ... and even then it could be a push

In 2018, LSU ranked #3 in week 10, lost to #1 Bama. They dropped to #9 the next week.

I actually think we would because Notre Dame's claim to fame is beating Clemson without their best player at ND. I think that if Clemson comes out and avenges their loss on a neutral field, then we can get in.

What would be absolutely insane is the following:

-Florida beats Bama (not going to happen, but fun to think about)
-Clemson blows out ND (likely)
-tOSU loses to Iowa or Northwestern (possible)

Clemson #1
Bama #2
Florida #3
TAMU #4

Yep
And LSU already had a loss that year
They lost that game by 29 points
And they didn't have a win over Bama already that season

Completly different situation

Thank you. Too many people are underestimating the chances of both Clemson and ND getting in. ND needs to win or we have basically no shot at getting in.

It has been scheduled since Sept 19. They are calling it Big Ten Champions Week - East vs West. Look it up.

Look I see what you're saying and I agree if ND doesn't win they should be left out.
However ND is undefeated, if they had 1 loss Then yes different story.
But if ND loses it will come down to
1 loss ND who lost in the conference title game to the #3 team who they already beat this season.

Vs

1 loss A&M team who already got beat by Bama by 28 points. And while ND lost their 1st game it was an extra game due to advancing to conference title game. Something A&M did not do.

If Clemson beats ND and Ohio St wins then ND will be the #4 team and matchup with Bama.
Committee would say then " ok A&M already had a shot at Bama and got blown out.. ND is more deserving"

Again not saying I agree... but that's how I see it playing out.

Imo only shot A&M has at the playoffs is a Clemson or Ohio State loss.

Who's OSU scheduled to play currently?
EKG1996

West is playing the East.

#1 in West plays #1 in East
#2 in West plays #2 in East
#3 in West plays #3 in East
etc.

If they don't change Championship rules for OSU, they will play Iowa. Which ironically would probably looked at as a better win.

If that happened it would be

Clemson

Why would they put Bama 1 spot ahead of Florida who just literally beat them and have the same number of losses.. ??? So dumb

So OSU gets another game regardless of no championship game? Figured not reaching 6 wins meant they were left without another game, but maybe not.

Yes, OSU will play another game next weekend, regardless. Either Big-10 championship or vs another chosen Big-10 opponent (like Iowa). The only question is whether their game will be the Big-10 champ game or not, but they will be 6-0 regardless (assuming they win that game on Dec. 19th).

It will take more than that.

We lost to Bama AT BAMA by 28. A Notre Dame loss at a neutral site to a team that is not as good as Bama by 20 is a beat down and will be enough.

Looks like 3 games in Indy next Friday/Saturday with the top 4 teams not in the CCG playing on Friday and the CCG on Saturday.
