Because this team definitely doesn't:
OSU's playoff resume:
Win over 2-4 Nebraska
Win over 2-5 Penn State
Win over 2-5 Rutgers
(tight) Win over 6-1 Indiana
Win over 2-4 Michigan State
Wow
Indiana was ranked 9th at the time and is now ranked 12th, and has since beaten #16 Wisconsin, which augments Ohio State's strength of schedule.
Here's our resume
5-point over 0-8 Vanderbilt
28-point loss to #1 Alabama that was over at halftime.
3-point win over #6 Florida - best thing on the resume, Florida is 8-1 and ranked #6
14-point win over 2-6 Mississippi State
11-point win over 3-6 Arkansas
45-point win over 2-8 South Carolina
13-point win over 3-5 and terrible LSU
11-point win over 5-3 Auburn, ranked 22nd when we played, not ranked now.
So match those two up.- We each have a win over a top 10 team.
- We have an additional win against a team ranked 22nd at the time
- Their other 4 wins are against teams averaging records of 2 wins and 4.5 losses.
- Our other 5 wins are against teams averaging records of 2 wins and 6.6 losses
- We got our asses beat badly in a loss to Alabama.
Based on that comparison, if you think we should go instead of them, is your argument based on our 11-point road win over #22 Auburn completely negates our 28-point loss to #1 Alabama?
I want us to make the playoff, but reverse the names on those resumes and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be saying 1-loss Ohio State should jump undefeated A&M.
