Thumbs up for 8 teams but not for those horrible projected selections (FL, for example, will be at two losses after Bama destroys them in the SEC Championship).
I know I'm in the minority, but since I started hearing rumblings of establishing college football playoffs in the 80's, I've always felt that 8 teams was the magic number in D1. 3 straight weeks of great football (probably ignoring most of the 1-8 and 2-7 seed games in week 1, but I bet every 2 or 3 years there is a surprise there, too). While you can never eliminate a bubble team that does not get in complaining they had a better case than team X, the likelihood of a team capable of actually winning the championship not getting the chance to do so would be close to nil. Some years, I'm a lot less sure that is the case with only 4 teams. At 16 teams, I think you'd end up with a lot more crap games and not gain much in the way of allowing legitimate contenders into the show. Just my 2 cents.
