Need to see how Elko's defense handles the Air Raid. I dont think it is a good match up schemewise. I also think our tackling gets exposed worse than UF unless it improves.
So, we need to see tackling and need to see Mond execute on the road. We get both 75% of the time, we will win and cover.
Mississippi State's offense scored just 14 points against Arkansas and got shutout against a Kentucky defense that allowed Ole Miss to score 35 points in regulation and 42 after one overtime the previous week. This would be a great opportunity for our defense to improve.
MSU had a negative turnover margin of 4 to 2 but still managed to beat LSU by 10 points in Baton Rouge. They had that same negative turnover margin against Arkansas, but it came back to bite them. MSU out-gained Kentucky 295 total yards to 157 total yards and had a time of possession of 34:57, but lost the turnover margin of 6 to 1. Through three games, MSU has 14 giveaways (9 interceptions and 5 fumbles) to 5 takeaways (2 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries) for a turnover margin of -9. I believe we should win the turnover margin by at least 2.
MSU's defense has played better than their offense has in their last two games. Without the pick-sixes, they held Arkansas to 14 offensive points and Kentucky to 17 offensive points. I would like a double-digit win at Starkville, but I won't be surprised if their defense keeps the game close.
