Am I missing something?

Why are all of the halftime commentaries saying that this win over Florida was the signature win Fisher had needed since arriving at A&M?

I get it... it was a big win over #4..... but are they all forgetting the 7OT game against an LSU team we had not beaten yet?

Auburn and Bama have had our number the last 3 years. We won 1 against LSU. Jimbo walked into some pretty tough competition plus Clemson.

Florida is as big if not bigger than LSU. LSU topped off a season. Florida moved us up to top 10 territory. We win out and we have an outside shot at the playoffs.

Beating a team that almost every years is in the top echelon. Your Alabamas, Clemsons, Ohio States, currently, off the top of my head.

Florida? Nah. During Spurrier or Meyer, yeah. Mullen may get them there, but they aren't there yet.



How would you define a "signature" win? Oh, someone who happens to be #4 2 games into the season.


Ok. Guess my standards are higher than yours. That's ok.

We sucked most of that LSU game, and had an amazing comeback. The win should be enjoyed, but not held up an as example of the team playing well.

To me a signature win is beating a Power 5 team that finishes with 10+ wins. If Florida finishes 7-3 or better, I will consider it a signature win by season end. So far, Jimbo Fisher has signature wins over 10-3 Kentucky and 10-3 LSU in 2018.

In reality...

Jimbo has his second signature win... LSU and now Florida.

Mond has had a number of good games, this was a great game for him.

A&M has beaten a top 4... er, a top 3 team twice - since 2012.

How the rest of the season plays out will determine if it was a signature win. But it was a win not many predicted, so it certainly increases my optimism for this team, this QB and this coach going forward.
