A logo that small shouldn't be on the center of a hat, and the 12 looks a little weird. An Ag might think it's A&M related, but most people won't have a clue what it means.
Understated is OK- I usually wear a '47 cap with the block T logo that says TEXAS on the top bar of the T and AGGIES on the bottom. (I can't stand that dirty F'in bevel). Non-Ags don't realize it's an A&M logo until they can read it, and that's because it's not mainstream or big x large huge. When you're within 10 feet though, it's obvious it's a classic block T logo.
The problem with this one is that it's understated and doesn't really have an identity outside of the color of the hat. The 12 is too small to associate with A&M. It screams golf hat... except it looks too generic for most golf guys to wear out on the links.
I do like it better than those plain maroon mom hats that say "texas aggies" in cursive lowercase, so it has that going for it.
