Yeah, that has to be a mistake. The 5th best player in the state and the 2nd best player in the nation at DE is not the 216th best player in the nation. Especially when the 3rd ranked DE is from the same state, ranked 8th overall in the state and 42nd nationally. Landon is probably supposed to be listed as either 16th or 21st.

Looks like I misread the scale, but they did drop him quite a bit in one swoop.

He was 58 in November, then we was bumped up to 20 in December. The next update is this month where he was dropped to 216. No rhyme or reason. Slight bump then huge drop.

It is not unusual this early in the recruiting cycle to see rankings bounce so much. It's early. Every recruiting service is evaluating a few thousand kids.

We have 3 blue chips.

Our top QB choice in the entire state.

Our top offensive playmaker in the entire state.

One of our top 3-4 OTs on the board that was deemed a must have from day 1.

As for Landon Jackson, it's complete and utter BS.

He looked bad running a drill he had never run before. He's a great football player and was dropped because of a stinking drill. Absolutely madness from people who get paid and are supposed to be professionals at this. Piss poor evaluation.

There is much wisdom in your statement although downgrading our recruits doesn't have the same negative impact on them as inflating their recruits rankings/grades.

Rivals still has him 4star

these gurus have different reasons for dropping kids down. Sometimes the reason might be academics, one service rates that big while another don't, but no reason to believe that with him.

For your best estimate of a kid's level take his highest rating. No doubt he is a strong 4star. With another hs season to go, plus camps, his rating could change a lot.

ESPN currently has him ranked 18th. More importantly our coaching staff targeted him as someone who can help and it looks like he may be on his way.
