Haven't revealed the top 25 yet, but the list is already a colossal train wreck. VY at 81? Tebow at 76??

But the real crime is, you guessed it, no Johnny Manziel to be found anywhere on the list. Regardless of what you think about Johnny, there's no way on earth he isn't one of the 150 greatest college football players of all time.

Doubtful he will be there, but he was better than Flutie who is at 28. LOL!

No Eric Crouch either, huh? That guy was fun to watch.

Typically these rankings are biased around those that played more than two years and those that won championships. If JFF would have stayed (which he should) he would be cemented as one of the best ever.

Man, forgot that Ricky Williams and Deion Sanders played all 4 years, wow. That would NEVER happen today.

He should have. One more year and he and miles would have been on the same team. 2 more and we'd probably have a natty.

I think he'll make the top 25. You can't leave the first freshman to win the heisman off that list, as well as a freshman QB that won on the road against #1 Alabama and put up numbers better than Tebow and Cam Newton. Johnny was absolutely electric in college, and if Mike Vick is on that list, no way Johnny doesn't make it.

So we are outraged he didn't make 26-150? This is just like when we freak out in the first quarter of a 14-3 game but then come back for a fairly comfortable win.

I do agree, the list is useless if he is left off entirely.

Why no women on the list?

So have they included all of the Heisman winners in the list?

Tebow should be ahead of Flutie...55 TDs his sophomore season and 145 total........

Normally I'd agree, but Tebow player all four years and was a heisman finalist for three. You could make the argument he should've won all three of those years too. That only gets you 76?

He'll be in the top 25. Several ESPN talking heads have openly said he's the best college player they've ever seen. I specifically recall the ginger former Alabama qb saying that.

He's really going to be at least 50 spots higher than Tebow and Vince Younf? Keep dreaming

I am more surprised the Dat isn't on that list somewhere. He is one of the best College Linebackers of all time

VY, Tebow, Reggie Bush, Ndamukong Suh, and Tim Brown are the best I've seen.

Suh is as great of a player as he is horrible as a person. Which means he's one of the best ever one the field.

I was never big on Young. This is not an anti-Longhorn viewpoint. I loved watching Applewhite and McCoy and I think Earl Campbell (as celebrated as he is) is the most underrated RB ever. I remember watching the Rose Bowl against USC and Young seemed a non-factor most of the game. Then, USC used a prevent defense (well, close enough) and it changed the game. He had room to run and throw short and some medium passes and gained confidence. USC never went back to an attacking defense and lost the national championship. He had a crazy good team around him that made him look good. Much of that can be said about all QBs, including Johnny, but Johnny ran when he wanted and threw when he wanted. He dictated it to the defense, not the other way around.

If he's not between 150 and 25 then he will definitely be in the top 25. Relax.

150 players is not that many when you consider the number of years and number of teams playing college football.

I'm sure the list is going to be slanted towards the last 20-30 years or so, but still, unless you're a perineal top 10 program for most of that time, you'll be lucky to have more than 1 or 2 payers make that list.

Put down the crack pipe. Do you have any concept of just how many college football players there have been? Assume 100 teams for 100 years with 70 players per team. That's somewhere around 700,000 players.

Manzel is more correctly ranked somewhere between 5000 and 50000 in "best college players of all time".
Hell, there is probably 150 DEFENSIVE players ahead of him.

Really? He didn't even have 150 yards passing until the 4th quarter. He couldn't throw at all until the end. Maybe you just remember his running (which was great) or maybe you simply like acting like a jerk. Glad to see you that's the route you take instead of showing real stats. I think its the 3rd down conversion stats that are astonishingly low for a winning team. Texas couldn't sustain many drives at all.

There are some pretty great players that have not been named yet, and they may still show up in the Top 25, but you can already tell this is going to be pretty controversial because of the people who HAVE been included. (Paul Hornung?) Some of the more contemporary names simply don't belong on a list of the Top 150. They were good, maybe even great, but a top 150 list should be elite. Vince Young was a great athlete with impressive stats who was known as much for his bone headed plays as he was for his athleticism. He was one play away from finishing his college career as an underachiever. It looks to me like they are simply trying to spread the wealth and include as many schools as possible, and it looks like they already gave A&M their nugget by including John David Crow.
