I'm saying something now that I have not said since Sam Adams and Quentin Coryatt were destroying offenses. But this D is elite. With a SERVICEABLE offense, I don't see this team losing to anyone.

I agree, however Mond is good for 2 turnovers per game. Our Defense gave us a chance to be very competitive at Clemson. Mond eliminated that chance

It is nice to finally have a defense that you can trust to make a stop when needed or just close a game out.

Maybe. I hope Jimbo has a guy in mind just in case. Next yr could be the opportunity we have been looking for if we can get some more consistency offensively and would hate to see it wasted because we don't have a great defensive tactician.
No one blamed the defense for Clemson tho. They played well enough to win the game .

Elte? no way...remember, this was Lamar we played. They are good and better than last year, but we aren't elite yet...not yet.

We held the first 3 opponents to 34 points. If we hold our next 3 opponents to 34 points then you can call them elite. For now they are above average.

Our offense is bad. Mond is below average at best against a P5 opponent. Our O Line is bad. Our receivers can't catch when the chips are down. Our RBs have trouble in pass protection.
Fix all of that and we compete against the best in the Nation.

I wouldn't say the defense is elite, but it's legit a solid one. No one just accidentally holds Clemson to 24.

We need edge rushers. Very good showing so far this year but there are deficiencies.
They are pretty good, but not elite.

Everything you said in paragraph 2 is correct. Our oline is not stout enough to punch it in against Lamar at the goal line.
