I have a few of those Aggie Joke books.

Question "Do you know how many Aggie Jokes there are?"

Answer "None! They're all true."

I've got that Dirk West print in my office at home, it was in my papa's for a long time before that. I point to it when I say something a little off kilter

Aggies wrote those joke books. Made a ton of money for themselves and the school. Best joke of all.

For some of the people posting here? Yeah, we are old. I am very gratified that 1944 considered me as a poster worthy of presenting his case for being a legit poster from the Class of '44. (Although not being a premium member the chance to DM me was not there.)

The only time I regretted not being a paying subscriber. Would have loved talking to him because he likely knew a few of my uncles.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that first picture hanging on the wall at my grandparent's house. Haven't seen it in a while though. I figure it was procured by my uncle who is class of '75.

My dad put that same Dirk West print under the lid of the footlocker he made me just prior to dropping me off in the Quad. My son, class of '18 surprised me for Christmas with a 1972 West print. I always love hearing about your dad

Yay Mrs. hawg.

For you youngsters out there, hawg and I are about the same age, both retired.

In my case, I worked my ass off for 47 years since I was 12 years old to retire at 59.

1975 was not that long ago, almost got murdered in Waco that year in an aggravated armed robbery. I had a blood clot blow up an optic nerve in 2009,....as much as we partied in the 70's, I should be dead. Two of my high school buddies and fellow fry cooks at Whataburger are,...Easy Ed at 46 heart attack, and Hatcher, 60, from cancer.

I should have been dead long before now, but I'm still standing.

It would have been cool to talk to 1944. He was approximately the same age as my Dad, who took a .32 Geyser off a Nazi in WWII, brought it home. I gave that gun to my nephew in California months back. He doesn't come to Texas, because his wife won't fly,...I just roll my eyes at that statement, ****, get in the truck and drive straight through for 24 hours, done deal.

A few years ago, my 92 year old cousin, retired Army Colonel died, he fought in WWII, Korea and Viet Nam. I learned at his funeral he was in his tank alone one day in Korea, the Chinese Army topped a hill, so he swung the turret around and started firing at them,

I have a metal foot locker I use to store dvd's. It was my Uncle's, a first Lt., 21 year pilot of a B24 Liberator who got shot down in the Ploesti Oil Field Raids in WWII. His guys bailed, he crashed, and got shot to death by Nazi's. Another Uncle was a medic at Guadalcanal in the Pacific Theater fighting Japs.

1944 was of The Greatest Generation, and I am glad his son is here, and sharing.

Four Aggie fish had just completed a grueling final for Spelling 101.

So they drove to LaGrange and paid $25 each to spend the night in a warehouse.

The 2nd print is "Entering Kyle Field 1975" t.u. game. Note......DeWare Field House, no 3rd deck, no Zone, and the senior in a short sleeve midnight. Beat the sips 20-10. Memories......Carl Roachs (sp?) end-around on the 2nd play from scrimmage, touchdown pass to Richard Osborne, Bubba Bean's long run with the ball held over his head, and the sips only td on a punt return, refs missed a clip that set it up. For our efforts, we made the cover of SI, and then went to Arkansas and screwed the pooch,

I love the new Kyle, but seeing that second picture brings back a ton of memories from when I was a kid. I have a memory of ALMOST that exact view from the 90's with the horseshoe in the background. While I still have a great time and love our facilities, I miss the games before the zone was built.

A former colleague at work gave me a printed copy of the first picture - apparently he found it in his attic. It's in my gameroom now.

It was a Thanksgiving game that was depicted. Sometime after the second deck east side was built. I have a print of this and need to pull it out.

And I agree with the poster who said those were great times in that stadium. I enjoyed it much more than I do the new stadium.

I did too, and I'm class of '84. My dad was '54, so I've been going to games since '71, or so.

The '79 tu game at Kyle was the loudest I've ever heard, and we only had 2 1/2 decks (the third deck half way built). Of course, it may be that I'm on the back side of 50, but I remember the ambiance.

Have that Kyle Field Photo framed and in my office. Reminds me of simpler times in Aggieland. Remember the selling of Mums down Jersey Street coming into town.

Yeah, that is something you don't see anymore. I sold them my senior year but only in 2-3 dorms. My mom and my fiance got a mum every game. We were recently talking about that. Wonder when this custom died out--sometime between the mid 60s and mid 80s.

Pretty much 1973-74.

My fish year started fall '73 and you still saw some mums and women dressed very nicely for games. Only a couple years later (the '75 season in the painting above) my memory is that mums were pretty much gone.

My class was almost half women, and I think one of the first like that. Therefore the tradition of "imported" dates to games, along with mums and getting dressed up, went away pretty quickly.

Another big change was the number of former students at games. My fish year I can remember you could look over to the west side of Kyle during games and tell where the reunions were seated as they were the only ones sawing 'em off!
