Saw this movie again a few weeks ago, and if there is a better football movie out there, I haven't seen it yet...

The part in the movie, right before they go for it on Fourth and One Long Yard, that speech Burt Reynolds gives on the sideline puts chills up and down my spine everytime I see it. An All-Time Classic Movie Scene...

Hope that Adam Sandler, Snoop Dogg, and Chris Rock give it justice..

THE LONGEST YARD
Adam Sandler will produce this remake of the 1974 football comedy starring Burt Reynolds. The original story was about Paul Crewe, a former NFL quarterback, who winds up in a Florida prison. When a sadistic warden gets on his case from the get-go, he's forced to organize and train a football team of inmates so the semi-pro team of prison guards can practice against another squad. The two teams meet for a vicious game, with Crewe's crew leading at halftime. When the warden demands that they throw the game or suffer the consequences, Crewe is conflicted. Chris Rock and Snoop Dogg will co-star.

Somehow, I don't think that cast will do it justice.

Chris Rock and Snoop Dog???? It will suck.

It might suck or it might be some funny shizzle fo rizzle.

Some movies do not need to be remade. Some sucked so bad the first time that it is pointless, and some were done to perfection the first time. The Longest Yard is definitely in the latter category.

Chuck Bednarik did not play the prison guard who got racked....that was Ray Nitschke, from Green Bay....

I saw The Longest Yard a couple of months ago that also included out takes and commentary from Burt Reynolds. In one of the comments made by Burt, he heard Nitschke tell everyone that no one touches the quarterback, that was his job.

There was a guy ritchie remake of the longest yard a couple years ago called "The Mean Machine". However its dealing with Soccer instead.

Great movie if you get to see it sometime...

What's next? A remake of the Godfather with Jimmy Kimmel as Micheal, Owen Wilson as Sonny, Eddie Murphy as The Don?
