During World War II, Clemson supplied more Army officers than any other institution except for Texas A&M. A total of 6,475 served and 370 were killed in the line of duty. A Medal of Honor was presented to LTC Jimmy Dyess a member of Clemson's Class of '31.

I've worked with a lot of Clemson grads in the military. Good guys. They had pride in Clemson like I do for A&M and I respected that fact.

Great story done by 60 Minutes on a former Clemson graduate, Clemson professor, Clemson class ring and survivor of the World War 2 Bataan Death March. Colonel Skardon is still living, over 100 and still going strong.

Ags with their military history will appreciate this American hero. He didn't really talk about this till he was about 80 years old.

Another fact about Clemson is that the entire class of 1917 volunteered for WW1. I believe two won the Congressional Medal of Honor.

On April 6, 1917, the United States declared war on Germany, and Clemson's senior class volunteered to President Wilson en masse. A total of 1,549 served and 25 were killed in the line of duty. Medals of Honor were presented to Ensign Daniel Sullivan and Sergeant Evans Foster

I hope they met more Aggies than just you. I wouldn't want them to get the wrong impression.
