Howdy Ags!

Got a little story for you: On Saturday I was all suited up in my #ComebackSZN gear and was second in line at 10am to meet the one and only Johnny Manziel out at TexAgs. As I was getting ready to purchase my gear at the merch trailer, my card was declined. I scrambled to see if I had enough cash to pay for everything, but I came up short. I unfortunately had to tell the cashier that I would have to leave some of the stuff out of my purchase, but then I heard somebody say, "I got you G, don't worry about it". As I looked up, lo and behold it was Johnny Football himself. The person I have looked up to since I was 13 years old offered to buy me the merchandise when I couldn't. I shook his hand at least 5 times and thanked him because he didn't know how much his gesture truly meant to me.

After taking a picture with him and getting an autograph, I told him that I appreciated him and I thanked him for all that he has done. That kind gesture only confirmed how much I love this University and the Aggie Spirit. Say what you will about Manziel, but he is a Fighting Texas Aggie through and through. Fan for life.

A card can be declined for numerous reasons...way to pass judgement.

I've had my card declined before when it was good. Usually a fraud alert block or similar. I've also been a so broke I resorted to going through all my seat cushions for enough change to buy gas college student before. That used to be college for most kids.

Good bull. Glad to hear JF had your back and I get my card declined sometimes as well. I'm a little older than you are and have a little more credit history, so don't sweat it.

They don't go through for a number of reasons. Last Sunday the cashier at Braums told me that my purchase wouldn't go through. I paid with a different card and called Amex. They didn't show an attempt for the charge by the retailer. So, you never know what kind of curve ball can come your way with a credit card purchase.

I only put all of this out there only because I feel its unnecessary for people here to sh*t on you for a declined transaction.

After checking back I am surprised to not see a lot of negative posts here. I will say this though, the zoo used to be way more fun. I used to come and lurk here daily for the laughs. Raptor reminds me most of those days now. I am glad the zoo didn't take this kid to town.

I've fallen into it myself, carrying a little more on credit than I should. Don't do it, college kids, stay in your lane. Don't bet on your salary being at least x amount when you graduate and everything fitting into your plans bc until it is in your account, you can't count it for anything

Listen I agree with your last statement... and maybe that is what happened, but credit cards get "denied" for all sorts of reasons besides being maxed out.

Happened to me one night while taking clients to dinner. For no reason. Luckily, the server just wrote me a note when he returned the card to stop by the next day to settle it. I called and the cc company said they wanted me to update my info with them. So, it happens.

Back to the point......Johnny did the kid a solid. Pretty cool in my book. Esp for a guy who's "just doing this to cash in"
