Agree that the jobs are very different. No recruiting at the pro level and only 20 hrs of practice time a week at the college level are the two primary differences. The schemes have to be much simpler because of the latter. I'd offer that the college job requires more of a leader and a schmoozer to have success. Either one requires a good talent evaluator and must be able to project what a player can be rather than what he is. I think Sherman and staff were particularly good at the last point.

BOB is probably a better college hfc than pro.
