Is it because there are not enough viewers for that game on a Saturday afternoon?
None of these two are top ranked and by their performance so far, they don't deserve prime time tv.
The same reason USC and Wash St is on Friday night: a national prime time spot.
Thursday night is not a "national prime time spot". Hence, the reason the NFL goes up against it.
7pm CT on national TV is the definition of national prime time, and even moreso on Thursday---a very popular night of the week. hence the reason the NFL plays then.
And why when CBS isn't showing the NFL, they'll move their top show back to Thursday night.
And if the NFL didn't play on Thursday night you'd see 10 college games on TV every Thursday like we had in Week 1. Just like if the NFL didn't play on Sunday or Monday, you would see college games continued to be played those days like A&M did in week 1.***
***As far as the NFL, they can schedule games whenever the hell they want to. They're
the dominant TV product in the United States this side of the M.A.S.H. and Seinfeld finales.
