My son is heading to BCS tomorrow evening to meet his friends from Colorado. What is best place during the summer to hang out on a Wednesday night? 23-25 years of age!

Thanks

Go to the Dixie Chicken on Northgate & get a draft pitcher. Personally I like the food at either Koppe Bridge location better (Wellborn or Harvey). Grab burgers & beer there. Migrate to the Chicken (safely).

NG on Wednesday during the summer will be pretty tame. Tell him not to expect Friday night on a game weekend.

Rebel's will have your best happy hour to start, from 7-11. Then go pound some shots at either dry bean or tipsy turtle(pickle shots). Then split a pitcher at the chicken, followed by a last hour to Social or Foundies for some apples in a barrel.

Rebels usually had good drink specials on Wednesday nights, you just have to listen to Top 40 Nashville country. Logie's is a lot of fun, as is Tipsy Turtle, Chimy's, and the place that used to be Fitzwilly's.

The tap does either Karaoke night or piano bar night on Wednesdays, I can't remember. The downside is that it isn't on NG and they charge cover.

The Chicken is good just for nostalgic reasons, but the do have pretty good drunk food.

You can never go wrong with the chicken or dudleys (free pool!) but as a former student living in College Station one of my all time favorite bars in the area is Carney's. They have great specials ($2 pint night on Tuesdays), a massive tap selection (second place to Rebel though), and the place is really big so there's room to breath.

If he's looking to do something other than drinking, Grand Station Entertainment is a solid option when it comes to bowling/laser tag/arcade games.

It's also worth mentioning that this coming Friday is First Friday! On the first Friday of every month Downtown Bryan is definitely the place to be for all ages. The Village Cafe always has great live music, Rx Pizza has some of the best pizza in town (get the porkscription), and Black Water Draw has a giant brewery just around the corner.

I've lived on and off in the BCS area for over 8 years now as a student and now former student working for the university. While I've lived in different parts of the US over the years, BCS is the only place that's really felt like home. Hope some of this helps!

I miss hitting up the Chicken or the Corner (pre construction) before summer school or during lunch.

NG is quite dangerous in the summer. No lines + cheap drinks = a rough night.

I lived at Bullwinkle's on Wednesdays in the late 90's. Place was always jam packed full of bottoms.
