The top pattern has to do with how the eyes and brain work in determining natural patterns. Studies have shown that unnatural shapes like rectangles are harder for the brain to seek in a natural setting and thus the 'new' pattern. Of course this was 20 years ago and I haven't kept up. Point being that there's a reason the military went that route and it wasn't to impress the entitled football recruits.

I was debating this with some of my peers. I prefer Woodland CAMO but apparently multi-cam is better because it doesn't have black blotches....which is said not exist in nature. Haha

All true, but it's been my personal experience multicam blends in better, & across a broader array of enviorments than any other pattern.
