How long do you want to ignore this user?
Is he the first NFL player to be suspended without failing a drug test?

Train wreck does not do this justice...

I'd say Houston dogged a bullet, but what was Clowney done? But at least Clowney doesn't seem to be a train wreck.

How do you know he didn't fail a drug test?

If he's being suspended for substance-abuse, it would mean that he is in the "program" In order to get in the "program" you have to have failed a drug test at some point.

I think the pictures we've seen today are pretty hard to refute.

Well, clowney was a number one pick who appears will never be healthy, a thing many people predicted at the time. Don't think Johnny was #2 on Houston's list that year. Clowney is just a way larger sunk cost. Johnny was the Brown's best selling jersey riding the bench.

He did fail a test and if it's 4 games it means he's failed multiple tests.......

Now the question I have (and it's really irrelevant, but more curiosity)-----if he's not signed to a team, do they start counting the games? Ex. if he finally signs with someone in week 10-----does have have to sit out 4 games and can come back week 15, or will he have effectively already "sat out" the first 4 games of the season and can play regardless of being signed or not week 5? It's irrelevant b/c he aint playing anywhere next year, but more curious how the NFL rule works.

His suspension starts once he signs a contract. So of he doesn't play again for 5 years he will be suspended then.

I'm not sure how the 4 game suspension works for non rostered players. Would be interested to know.

Also curious on whether the Browns can recapture any of johnny's signing bonus. If he were rostered, I'm pretty sure they could. Not sure how it works when you aren't in the 53 man.

According to this, it applies to 2016. The Browns benefit because he is due guaranteed salary for 2016.

Vander is wrong. It's this year. No pay for 4 games.

Ag2003 is wrong. He could have only failed 1 test.

According to the article. He loses guaranteed money.
I wonder if it's just the 4/16's of $ or all of it.

"According to the PFT report, a suspension by the NFL voids the guaranteed money in his contract. So, at least someone benefits from all this."

Manziel's football career is done. He is just a reality show celebrity now, and even that will fade soon.

Maybe. Maybe not.

The Arena Football League is recruiting him.

If he cleans up his act and plays there for a couple of years, a NFL team could take a chance on him down the road. His issue is not ability. It's substance abuse.

People said Richie Igcognito's career was over a couple of years ago. Yet, he made the most recent NFL Top 100.

Jersey sales don't mean a damn thing. It's league money that gets evenly distributed.

I believe johnnys attitude and actions this off season have been inexcusable and embarrassing, as both a fan and just in general. If no one remembers back to the offseason that brought us autograph-gate and numerous articles on Johnny's "shady" relatives in Tyler. I believe it's fair to say, he's got an addictive personality. I think had he been drafted by a coaching staff that believed in him, we wouldn't be where we are today. I think Johnny would of preformed as they say "when you dangle a carrot" if Cleveland's staff had not from day 1 tried to rip down his confidence and persona. I do believe Manziel at this point will have to maintain sobriety to stay in the league(or even get another chance.) I just don't know if anyone with that amount of money, youth, famous friends, and that personality and persona can be leashed. I think Manziel has the tools, Johnny wants to feel wanted and to be the man, if he isn't we get this offseasons behavior. God I wish George Whitfield could get in Johnnys ear and get him black to the slaying the dragons. I think Whitfield who was extremely instrumental in Johnnys development, could get him back in football shape. If that's what Johnny wants. I so want Sean Payton to pick him up and let him sit a year or two behind Brees and develop him and let him mature. Nola wouldn't be great on his partying though.
