Not everyone has been able to catch on to the Pats' offense over the years. If Bennett can, they will be next to impossible to stop.

Love me some Martellus, but he has changed his tune since leaving the Dallas Cowboys.

Other teams actually throw the ball to him

Other teams have let him walk too. NE may be his last shot and it sounds like he knows it. Wish him luck, he has great talent.

The Bears let him go despite him getting Offensive Player If The Year once. I think he was just tired of playing with Cutler.

Teams are not letting him go because he's not productive or a problem.

Lots of players change their tune when they leave the Cowboys. Makes one wonder, is it the players or is it that organization?

Getting drafted by Dallas was the worst thing that could happen to him. He wasn't going to get enough chances behind a Hall of Famer in Witten, especially with the relationship Witten and Romo have.

Kind of like a pinch hitter in baseball, are you really going to succeed that often when you're not really involved in the flow of the game.

It's the organization.

Yet, he was still let go. He is talented. He just needed to get his head right is all I am saying and it sounds like he is doing that. With Tom Brady pulling the trigger, he can have a great year. Will be fun to watch.

Good 'ol Cowboys hate! It's alright, we thrive on it. If you follow the pro game like I do, you would see that Dallas doesn't bring in free agents like they used to. They have been growing them through the draft. Martellus was a high pick for Dallas and showed a lot of promise. He was quoted as being frustrated behind Witten because of Romo trust in the future Hall of Famer. Do you think Brady has a similar trust in Gronk? I would say absolutely. I would even bet it is stronger. Well maybe as strong. Never the less, he WILL be Robin to Batman, no doubt about it, but that can be a good thing for him and the Pats. Happy for him he is seeing what his role is for now. One day that can change.

Gronk, Amendola (former Cowboy too) and Edelman. Not sure Martellus will see it much more. Dallas had the same vision for him in their offense. Martellus was not ready for it. Now it appears he gets it. Good for him, I am a FAN of Martellus. Wish we had him in Dallas instead of some former Baylor basketball player.

Martellus lacked maturity early in his career and went to a terrible organization that did him no favors in cultivating his development... much like another Aggie great we know.

What I'm saying is that you are insinuating that his head has not been right. He is one of the best blocking TE's in the league and always has been. He has also performed well as a pass catching TE the last 4 or 5 years.

Call it hate if you want but I'm being pragmatic in evaluating an organization that employs folks like Greg Hardy and Dez Bryant. Best thing that happened to Tellus was getting out of that environment.

Do you even watch or follow the Pats?

Since Hernandez took himself out of football, the Pats have looked for ways to get back to the "12" personnel.

If Martellus can understand the ornate offensive the Pats run, he will get plenty of playing time. His is a good enough blocker not to be a liability against most defensive ends.

The "12" personnel is ideal for Brady and the Pats. Brady can run various spread formations without shifting personnel in / out. The multiple tight end set nullifies dropping the 8th defender in the box and/or forces the defense to show the type of coverage.

Multiplicity - Brady can paper cut his way down the field and have the advantage of two tight ends to add a boost to the running game. Two 6'6" receivers in the red zone is a nightmare match up when the offense can go run or pass.
