It is becoming increasingly clear why Baylor players are the biggest trash talkers

How else could they act after Briles tells them "Don't try to be someone you're not"?

If Briles stays, it will be interesting to see how many mothers will want their son playing for him.

It would not shock me if a 1 loss team gets in the playoffs over an undefeated Baylor team.

If Briles is not fired, I believe his recruiting will suffer and within 2-3 years they will experience a tremendous decline in their program and their revenue stream.

There have been rumors he was slimy even at the high school level, and I suppose it has simply increased at this level.

I still remember the film of the RGIII interview after a loss to A&M, when Briles did his infamous "Is that an A&M question". The part I found very telling about the film was watching RGIII roll his eyes when Briles said that. Even RGIII new what a scumbag Briles was, and still remains.

They're just following the Miami blueprint for success, with its three tenets:
1) ethics have no place in modern college football
2) the NCAA will never, ever issue anything near the death penalty again
3) the student body and boosters are willing to look past all kinds of institutionalized ugliness, as long as there are some championships every now & then

The only ironic part is that baylor associates itself with a church

This is the bottom line. Baylor will sacrifice somebody, but it won't be Briles.

I don't know anything about this claim. But, the size and speed of his Bears squads combined with their violent and rapey behavior would suggest that the possibility exists in Waco as well.

I don't have a problem with college or Pro players taking steroids now. They all do it, they are relatively safe now, and it's an adult deciding what he wants to do with his body. A coach distributing them to underage kids though is absolutely disgusting to me.

I think baylor is lacking some of two buck chuck's core values. Maybe he can loan briles some.

Because it didn't happen. The people of Stephenville would never have put up with it anyway. Plus it's a reckless accusation hiding behind a fake name.

So a 17-year-old in high school is a no go, but an 18-year-old in college is fine?

If a college player wants to go out and find stuff on his own, there is not much chance of stopping that. If a school is somehow supplying it, that's a completely different story.

I first heard the Stephenville steroid rumors years later, 1000 miles away. When I told my wife that Baylor's coach was the old Stephenville coach. Probably happened lots of places, but for sure happened there.

I do know for a fact that many (anyone who played or wanted to play) for briles at Stepehnville used roids at one point or another. I don't know if it was every year that he was there, but I do know it was going on for many seasons. My info is from a defensive coach under briles, and his daughter, an ex of mine.

So because your granddaughter (3rd gen) graduated from A&M means you're an A&M fan? With all due respect, it sound like you may have been in college before A&M admitted women (my grandmother went to tu and I'm not too far off from graduation). Not meaning that in a disrespectful way, just that you defensiveness over briles (who for all we know could be a family friend) makes it seem as though you are a supporter of him or baylor.

I can understand that, but this is not a good battle to pick as many people that know Texas HS football seem to be aware of the Stephenville/Roids "stories". I have knowledge from someone that coached with briles.

Even still, I just googled a few key words with Briles + Steroids + Stephenville. This popped up. It's a sip fan talking quoting Baylor fans talking about briles on the Baylor fan site during the sips coaching search when it was rumored Art wanted to leave Baylor for sip.

quote:
A couple posts from someone called FishThtSvdWaco on BaylorFans. Wow, this guy's alright.

"It's fascinating that the halo effect is so strong that some won't believe Briles would sell us out until he actually cleans out his office. But Briles was on record as saying he'd take the Texas position the day Mack retired BEFORE he ever left UofH.
You also might ask people from Stephenville about steroid use when Briles was coaching.

Look, I get it. We all love Baylor. We want to give him the benefit of the doubt, and I like that we've won games.

But Art Briles is loyal to.....Art Briles. There is a good reason he doesn't sing our fight song, attend our banquets or help raise money. It's because that makes him uncomfortable. We just gave this guy a raise and gave him lifetime security and he's DEFINITELY shopping us around. If you give ANYONE that kind of money and it doesn't buy loyalty, well, you were forewarned..

Art's willing to talk to anyone that will pay him....you can take that to the bank..And right now, he's talking to Korn/Ferry about the opening at UT."

-------------------

"I'm with you and I put the odds at 7/3 of him leaving and I only say 3 because the other candidates are good too. I know too many people from Stephenville that warned me before RG3 and before we went 10-1. He's a competitive guy and there were things he did that others weren't comfortable with..People like winning, but ...to a point.

Briles demeanor in all of his recent interviews tell me all I need to know. He is without a doubt more reserved, cautious, like he's hiding a card or two. He isn't the Briles headed to the Alamo bowl.

Right now, if you're not accepting of the fact that Briles is talking to UT, you're in denial. That doesn't mean he'll take the job, but it's still troubling, because it tells you that the raise and extension didn't buy anything but negotiating clout for something else.

He's using us. That's the nature of the business these days, but to a large extent, we brought it on ourselves."

Did you know that I don't have any proof either that Mark May blew 5 dudes at Pitt?

Or Joey Freshwater had sex with Saban's daughter?

Or RGIII was texting girls the night of his wedding?

Doesn't mean it's not true though.
