4. Trevor Knight, Texas A&M 2016 Year of Eligibility: Senior Knight's decision to transfer to Texas A&M was a huge boost to a program that lost Kyler Murray and Kyle Allen to transfer prior to the Music City Bowl. Knight started 15 games over three years at Oklahoma, accounting for 4,277 total yards and 33 overall scores. The Aggies have a strong supporting cast in place, starting with one of the SEC's top receiving corps and an intriguing transfer at running back in Keith Ford. Texas A&M doesn't need Knight to be prolific, but his experience and ability to make plays with his legs should provide stability for the offense.

I had no idea the SEC was going to be so weak at the QB spot. I'd even argue he's better than Brandon, but the season will have to reflect that.

I just hope Turner can just give us an OLine. Our season will depend on it.

FWIW, I had a dream the other night where our o line got massacred against ucla and we were all shocked.

However, in that dream the field looked weird and the guards were each lined up about 3 yards away from the center in some odd, possibly illegal formation.

Really makes you think.

Never was illegal for Leach's tech offense

A lot of the issues with the line were schematic. Run pass options get your qb killed. Watch the Gruden QB Camp with Jared Goff. Instead of Run Pass Option, Gruden calls RPO Ridiculous Protection Offense.

I think UCLA could raise hope falsely. Mora seems a lot like Sumlin in that he had some good seasons and recruited well but has never gotten over the hump. Last year they were mediocre and awful at the end of the season (worse than A&M). I will be very happy with a solid win over UCLA but not until we start winning some of the big SEC games will I get my hopes up.

I am looking forward to Mazzone's offense with Turner running the OL again. It reminds of Sherman's offense, which was a good offense, just very poorly managed and run.

Sumlin was told before he entered the SEC you win on defense and you have to have a running game. The initial JFF experience seems to have turned him away from both. Chavis is capable of fixing the D and Mazzone at least talks a run game so maybe there's hope.

TK seems like a good dude. I just hope we bounce back and have some entertaining football to watch. I am not going to let Aggie football ruin my year anymore. Gig'em Trevor!

How can Knight throw for 4,277 yards in 15 games at OU (even more than Chad Kelly and well over the number 2 and 3 passers) and be rated the 4th best QB? I don't get the logic. This implies a problem with the OL so if the OL is the problem rate the OLine and not the QB. Knight has the pedigree and ability so he should have been rated #1 or #2, IMHO.

He should certainly be rated higher than the LSU QB, no recent history suggest any LSU QB is ever going to break any positive QB records.

RPOs have their place. You have to take Gruden's statements in context. In the NFL, you have to be much, much more concerned with protecting your quarterback. That is what Gruden is talking about. RPO's have their benefits but, in the NFL, put your quarterback at a much higher risk. Plus, I don't agree with some of the routes that California ran using their RPO's, and that is also what Gruden had an issue with. An RPO when actually thrown should look like nothing more than play-action. California, in those clips viewed by Gruden, was leaving an End unblocked while trying to throw a Post-Seam, which takes entirely too long, in my opinion.

Having LSU's QB listed anywhere near the top is redic.

Apparently, the writer did not watch the LSU spring game. That guy looked like ass my dude.

Because his yards/attempt, qb rating, completion percentage, and TD to interception ratio stats weren't very good.

Knight, the Mazzones and the Turners were all great pick ups this offseason. We can boo hoo about our 18th ranked recruiting class but our O and DL both took steps forward.

Hey did y'all hear that Sumlin stole Utah's coach to be co-OC? He's been successful everywhere and is finally someone who understands OL and the run game. Him coupled with Kyle Allen will finally run Sumlin's offense the way it's supposed to be run. Just a few tweaks to the defense and I think 10 wins is the floor for 2015.

Wait, this is a new set of "they're the perfect fix"? Sorry, I'm a year behind

I think that is more of an indictment of the SEC QB situation.

Chad Kelly is really the only know quantity in the league with any on field quality results.

Have to be 5 guys on the line numbered 50-79 (unless in scrimmage kick formation) and the snapper is on the line whether he's one of the 50-79 or not. Doesn't matter where they line up.

The 7 on the line rule, which may still exist in the NFL, was taken out of the NCAA book sometime around 2008. Now there just can't be more than 4 in the backfield -- so with 11 out there, 7 will have to be on the line. But if they want to play with fewer players, 5 is sufficient. Oh, and 50-79s are ineligible receivers by number, but 3 guys can line up right next to each sideline if they want. Wide splits are perfectly legal.

Also, the NFL may require the end to be of an eligible number, but I'm not completely sure about that. No such rule in NCAA.

Wait, let me get this straight. A guy who had been coaching for 15-20 years was told how to win in a certain conference? Like by someone on the internet? Oh some of you guys.

Only a lawyer would have said it that way. I'd have said the guard can line up as far as he wants from the center.
