Tami and Chris Stout are Class of '96 and '95, respectively. Their oldest son Justin (13 years old) became ill while on vacation a week and a half ago. He was diagnosed with acute liver failure but while waiting for a liver transplant, he was diagnosed with ALL, a childhood form of leukemia. He cannot start chemotherapy until he receives a liver transplant. Please keep this family in your prayers, including Justin's little sister and brother who do not understand the severity of the situation. If you are in Houston, please also consider donating blood and platelet's in honor of Justin between now and April 6. You can visit www.giveblood.org to find a donation center near you. If you donate, please provide Justin's group code S060.

Football related because Justin loves Aggie football.

UPDATE: Justin in OR now to receive a new liver. Please pray for Justin, Justin's family, and the family who lost their child and made the decision to give Justin the gift of life.

This one hits close to home for me guys, as Tami and I are close friends who have known each other since sixth grade. Great family, great people and she and Chris are two of the most enthusiastic Aggies I know. Justin might be even more gung ho about the Maroon & White, however. Please keep Justin and his family in your thoughts and prayers, as he's been fighting a very brave fight for over a week now.

It actually was worse. I left out the part where they took him OFF the transplant list when the diagnosed him with ALL. Thankfully 80 (yes 80) doctors consulted and decided they could in fact do the transplant and put him back at the top of the list several days later.

Here is the latest update from Justin's mother, Tami:

"Update- though yesterday was an extremely hard day as a liver we were preparing for did not meet the criteria needed for Justin, today has been a day of answered prayers. Justin is awake today and nodding yes and no to questions, this is so encouraging. Please continue your prayers! The blood bank location near Sugar Land has reported a triple in donors so thank you everyone who has donated, continue spreading the word. We will be setting up a gofundme account soon after many inquiries, please continue to share this info because I would like all those Prayer Warriors and Aggie family to know the latest. For now, we still await a liver."

"Due to the overwhelming LOVE and support for Justin Stout, an address has been set up to receive cards, letters, poems, or prayer grams. Many of you asked what you can do to help. It can be as simple as picking up a card while grocery shopping to writing a letter on a piece of paper to getting your child to create some artwork at home. Justin will greatly appreciate it. He will be in the hospital for a while and reading these special messages will really lift his spirits. So let's flood his hospital room! Please share this post and invite everyone you know to like this page.Address is:

Update from from Tami:

"Justin is still critical in the ICU. It takes the various machines and blood products to keep him "stable" in acute liver failure, we are still waiting for a liver. Please remember to try to donate blood or to become an organ donor so you can help kids/adults in a situation like ours. Thank you so much for your donation and prayers."

Yeah! Justin is in the OR to receive his new liver! From his mother:

"Please pray as Justin goes to the OR for his new liver. Pray that he can go into this surgery without anxiety and that he can recover to face his new life and the obstacles ahead. Pray for peace to the family of a 16 year old child that they may know the gift they have given to our child on their hardest of days. Pray for the guidance to his nurses and doctors over the next few hours and days."
