How many programs would even want a pro-style pocket passer and spread guru QB in the same system?? They wouldn't. One of them would get screwed and probably killed.

I have to think Strong got a "royal" (pardon the pun, R.I.P.) ass-chewing after the 59 yards debacle in the Texas Bowl and felt like he had to do something. Enter Kyler.


Sidenote: Not completely analogous, but Houston Nutt was pressured into doing whatever was required to keep Parade All-American Mitch Mustain at home in Arkansas. He did, with Gus Malzahn along for the ride. Yet, Nutt was heavily criticized and forced out because he had Darren McFadden, Felix Jones and Peyton Hillis and a helluva run game. He didn't pass enough for Mustain supporters.

Kyler is a great talent, but without an offensive line or any receivers he'll be either running for his life, or handing the ball off for 2 yard gains all the way to another losing season.

Trill was developed. He had good stats. He just messed up. Ags had 2 good young qbs developed.

It is also pretty sleazy but they can do it.
It also proves they couldn't recruit Kyler on their own merit and had to buy his dad.

Staff needs to figure out these sip trolls posing as Ags. It is pretty obvious who they are and ban them, rather than banning posters getting angry at them. I blue starred viva's last two posts because it is pretty obvious ryamkajr is one of them.

Yep, at 5'10" and 175 or whatever he's at, he will be doing his development in a body cast at tu with their current Oline. After all, Swoopes is like 6'5" 230+ and he was getting beat up pretty bad.

I have a question. If they are going to the spread for Kyler, does that mean they don't use TE like the pros?

Be interesting to know when t.u decided to transition to a Spread Offense as has been reported today (Gentry).

Unfortunately it's probably the right choice considering the sorta-QBs they have on their team right now. But it does make it a selling point for future (hopefully not present) classes. It's the norm. in Texas HS Football.

Scatman doesnt have anybody on his staff that knows how to install spread. No, Wickline is a O line coach, not a seasoned OC.

Bryan Harsin tried to install spread and Yellertooth sqwuuushed that idea and kept that same tired, ****ty offense.
Harsin was smart enough to get out of Austin. Did anyone notice how much ass he kicked at Boise this year? Check it out.

I know the ash family and they blame strong for that unnecessary rush at the end of one of the earlier games this season. Strong wanted to make a point and he made it: player safety isn't as important as his authority.

So yes. If I'm a 5 star offensive player, I would stay far far far away from Strong.

The guy has a great point. If your line cant block, it really doesn't matter how shifty and quick the QB is, he's gonna get plastered, which brings with it an elevated risk of concussion. Why not acknowledge the obvious, cockroach?
