Look up Virginia Tech's defensive statistics and then check out A&Ms. Compare and contrast. There's your answer. Monumentally different.

Here's your answer...

Virginia Tech gave up 332 yards per game, the 17th best in the nation.

Virginia Tech gave up 20.4 points per game, the 17th best in the nation.

Virginia Tech gave up 186.8 passing yards per game, the 14th best in the nation.

Bud Foster had little to do with Virginia Tech scoring only 23.3 points per game, or 98th in the nation.

Well, this is more fun than the game for sure...

And coincidentally, VT defense just shut down the Cincy drive and VT gets the win.

But in order to validate his statistical record, do we really think the strength of the ACC compares to the strength of the SEC? Is that a fair analogy, or just statistical calisthenics?

Its like some folks dont follow football. Minus Miles and Hilliard, its safe to say the telent level especially in secondary is night and day. Better tackling all around, better rush defense and enough confidence to put corners on an island and let them play.

Thats ben Foster defense his entire career.

Look at the offenses they played. Also they held almost everyone they played under their yards per game and points per game. And yes they played some damn good offenses.

They were the second best scoring defense in the ACC, and 5th best total defense in the ACC.

I realize the ACC Coastal Division isn't full of great teams, it did have some good offense, but he would, presumably, have "SEC talent" at A&M- talent he probably didn't have at Virginia Tech- to go up against "SEC talent" offenses.
