Wrong. If you don't do your job then you're gone. End of story. Malik obviously didn't trust Sumlin. An 18 year old kid shouldn't be giving anyone an "deadline". Trust or go somewhere else.

There are no guarantees in football. What does he say when the Texas DC bolts to Colorado State nest week. Just an excuse.

If the lack of DC really was his reason (and I don't think it was), then the irony is that he's chosen the other school where he won't know who his supervisor will be.

Malik is doing what he thinks is best for his own future and Sumlin is doing what he thinks is best for his own future.

You can't really blame Malik for choosing a school that gives him a clear chance at success.

And we will find out soon why Sumlin is not releasing any information on a DC. If it's a good excuse, he'll probably be forgiven. If it's not, he gone.

You interview to work for the company, not an individual immediate supervisor. Malik either commits to A&M and Sumlin or he doesn't. It's s team sport.

Maybe Summie told him in confidence, and he didn't like what he heard. Doesn't matter. Defense is where we should be concentrating at this time. I definitely agree with Kevin Murray's tweet on the other thread.

Defensive recruiting MUST be our focus.
