It's sounding like Burn tomorrow night is going to be heavily attended, in no small reason because of TexAgs hosting the Redpots on the radio earlier this year, ESPN doing a 6,000 word article and photo essay on Bonfire, TexAgs live streaming Burn night events, and GBH throwing in with their tailgate feature.
I know for some folks this will be their first burn since the collapse. Is that the case for anyone else?
Just as a general head's up - there's going to be traffic. Back in 2009 there was very nearly a line of cars from OSR back to Bryan. The best bet is to come early: any time before 4:00 pm and admission is free, between 4-6 pm it's $10/vehicle, and after 6 pm it's $20 per car.
Directions can be found here.
Basically, if you're coming from College Station, drive north on Hwy 6 about 10-15 minutes and exit for OSR. Turn left (west) onto OSR and then the first right immediately after the railroad tracks onto Old Hearne Road. There will be signage all along the way.
There will be Church Street BBQ, Aggieland's Favorite Kettlecorn, and sodas and t-shirts for sale. There will be kids throwing footballs, music playing, and damn near perfect weather. No alcohol at the event, strictly enforced by organizers and law enforcement.
